I think the first paragraph is factually accurate. I would like to see the reasoning as to the point made in the last sentence. It could be reasonable or not, but there is no connection made between the two.

I would suggest that the reason Florida is competitive in most recent elections is because of the demographic and ideological differences between the diverse parts of the state. Is this good or bad? I would guess that is for the reader to decide, however, I would rather have it competitive than another "blue state" lock like my state.

Actually, Jewish Americans vote in statistically higher percentages than other Americans. I would need to dig up the statistics on exactly how much higher, but lets assume its probably at least twice as high, so you're now talking about 7% of actual voters in Florida (at least, but in fact its probably even higher). In a tight swing state that is an important voting block.
