I am wondering how many women here on lit has had a C-section? Any of you expierence loss of tummy muscles after yours? I did the recommend exercises afterwards but my stomach sags where before it didn't.

As far as losing Weight I am working on that and exercising to. I am working on a plan that will work for me. Having two underline health disorders I am trying to work in a diet that works to better the conditions. I think I might also have a gluten food allergy but I am not sure. I suffer from stomach pains a lot but that might just be side effects from all the medication I have to take.

I am working on my exercise program but need more exercises. Can anyone recommend some. I already know about push ups and sit ups, squats etc.

Thank you for all for your help. I am determind to lose this hidious weight and tone my muscles back up. Thankfully most of my muscles are still there, lol.

I would need to see some before pics before recommending any kind of workout.

I had a c-section with my last child.
Luckily, I also had a great surgeon, who did his best to make sure he minimally damaged my muscles, and micro-stitched several levels back together.

Having said that, I also gained a shitload of weight with my last pregnancy and had to work very hard to get rid of it.
My suggestion? Go to a gym and have a session with a personal trainer, who can give you specific excercises to strengthen your muscles and target fat. Let him know you need a regimen that you can do without all the fancy machinery at the gym.
One or two sessions with a trainer, and then you can continue on your own at home.

Good luck with it.

Most posters on here are male and wouldn't know a c-section from a d-section.

Diet and calorie restriction is the most important thing for weight loss.

I'd recommend cutting out all forms of sugar except for very small amounts of honey, maple syrup and blackstrap molasses for sweeteners. Stevia is good to use as a sweetener too.

Cut out all wheat. Only eat whole rye bread. Limit grains to rye, spelt, oats.

Cut out all carbonated drinks and caffeine. Drink 10-12 cups of spring water a day.

Make sure you get enough sleep because sleep deprivation releases a hormone that makes stomach fat.

The best fat burning exercise is to get on the treadmill and walk slowly and steadily uphill for at least 40 minutes. When you burn fat it burn it everywhere.

I'd also say do deep breathing exercises and bath in sea salt and do dry skin brushing to stimulate circulation and elimination of toxins but you might that was getting crazy. But I do still recommended them :cattail:

ETA: I haven't kids or a c-section but the principles for losing weight and burning fat are all the same.

I cut soda out of my diet over a year ago, so thats no problem. We drink lots of water here. I let my kids have milk or juice at breakfast, lunch and dinner any thing in between is water. Shit with the exception of my daughter who gets juice becuse she has to stay hydrated. Thats a long story though.

I would love to go town to our local rec center to use the exercise room but I don't drive. That is why I need to do it here. I use to do sit ups, push ups, scissors, the thing where you squeeze your butt muscles and left your butt up, also the leg lifts. I also use to lift weights or use the weight machines but its been years since then. I also use to walk about 4 to 6 miles a day. I don't do fast foods, we ate a balacnced meal. we eat lots of chicken and fish here. I am searching for more recipes and snack foods.

I have compiled a list of negative calorie foods. I like most of them so I will add more of them to my snacks. I am determined, I know the correct way I just now need to live it. Thanks again for all your help.

Well she isn't a baby any more but still a pain in my ass lol. She is now 6 years old and in kindergarten. I didn't gain a whole lot of weight with her, I had already had the weight on. My husband now use to cook my fried noodles.. and well if I knew how much butter he put in it then, I might have skipped the delicious noodles.

I really don't eat bad I just need to exercise more. Cleaning the house just does't count. It never bothered me before about my weight gain because I can be happy in my own skin no matter how big or small. I am doing it now because I want to, I have a lot to lose. I know I will do it because thats the type of person I am. I would love to get back into a size 14 which to some is a big size but at the time I wasn't fat. I didn't have a flat stomach but it wasn't huge either, no fat rolls. It suited me. I want that again.lol

Is a guy allowed to comment?

If yes, then here goes-

My wife had a C-section with son #1. No problem with muscles afterward or even after #2 came along- which she had the "normal" way. However, she gained a shit load of weight with #1. She worked very hard and lost it all. Gained much less with #2, but once again lost all the extra pounds. Her problem is the loose skin/stretch marks from the 2 pregnancies. Me, I couldn't care less about the marks or small bit of loose skin, but I'm a guy. It has been almost 18 yrs since #2 came along and she STILL is bitching about the marks/loose skin.

As for losing weight, you can subscribe to any new-wild-crazy-bullshit plan you want. It all comes down to simple math- take in fewer calories than you burn up. How you go about it is entirely up to you.

Make any plan you think you can stick with and you will suceed. Good luck.
