Are you a believer in the lucky? Unlucky? Planning to get lucky? Is this only an American superstition? Tell me what you think.

I had that mirror thing happen, too, Dawei. Mine was horrible because it happened at the beauty salon where my mother went to get her hair fixed and the owner of the salon made a sign to mothers to watch their children shaped like the hand mirror I had accidentally broken. I think my bad luck was having to see that awful sign each week and be reminded of my naughtiness.
Speaking of naughtiness, I hope all of you have wonderful, loving naughtiness tonight. You know, I actually did buy a hat tonight, Bronze. A little black and white striped skull cap. It's sassy.

Oh no, not black and white stripes? That's bad luck.
Well, that depends which direction the stripes are going.
It's just another day to me.
I like superstitions because it's easy to create one on a moment's notice.
"I'm going to buy a hat, today."
"Oh no, don't do that. It's bad luck to buy a hat on Friday."
I'm afraid your Friday hat example, while quite a lot of fun in it's own right, is just a 'stition.' It won't be a superstition until it gains a significant following.
My favorite superstition is this: It's bad luck to ask your date 'How much for a knobber?' while crossing a bridge, and whether she accepts competitor's coupons.
That seems guaranteed to deliver a slap to the face! (Interesting term, knobber. Is that common to the West Coast?)
2012 is a year of hell for triskaidekaphobics . The number of Fridays this year happens to be 52 and if you love silly stats, that number means that (gasp) the numbers 3 and 13 are factors (both primes, too) of it, giving us not one but three Fridays the 13th. Creepy enough, you say? well work it out... These 3 scary Fridays are precisely 13 weeks apart! Are you a believer in the lucky? Unlucky? Planning to get lucky? Is this only an American superstition? Tell me what you think.
