Why is it so difficult to say to another human being these words:

I love you.

I feel like a idiot if I have to use that phrase.

Maybe it's a cultural thing. I know that I don't hand out I love yous as candy either. It's serious business. If I tell someone I love them, I'd better be prepared to either marry them, take a bullet for them, or both. Anything less is to devalue the word love. And even then, I don't want to wear it out.
