I suppose anyone who can survive the campaign trail is presumed to have little left to hide. I doubt there's a single member of Congress whom some opponent has not hired a PI to investigate at one time or another in his career.

My understanding is that All of those people & staffmembers, etc. do undergo backround checks , but the presidential ticket does not.
