A fair number of people on this site fancy themselves "writers", so I understand their placing a certain degree of importance on spelling/grammar. But as a CFA I am much more concerned with numbers. It does not bother me, as bad as my typing/grammar may be, I know several people smarter than most on this board whose grammar/typing is worse.

I offered, but you also make a good point; I have no trouble saying that atmas, HungryJoe, and Flagyl are all good friends of mine irl, and that I told them about Lit. I don't see how that compromises them in any way.

The truth is that in the early days of FB I used the email friend finder and am friends with a whole shitload of science students from Oregon who I don't know at all.

Then there's students from classes I've taught, and a lot of old friends I'd lost touch with. Family and Lit/Lint/Clique make up the rest.

I resisted fb for the longest time. Then I realised (belatedly) that I could learn what my kidley beans were up to!
I have mine set to total privacy, so there's not many who even know I'm on there.
If I opened it up, one of the worst bullies from my high school years would probably try repeatedly to talk to me (she wants to apologise).
I have zero interest in doing that conversation!
