How long does it generally take to have a story approved (or not) ?

Just curious.

I submitted my first yesterday, and am wanting to see if it will get approved or not.

I am by no means an author, this is a first attempt.

Can take a day or two. But rest assured, it will be sorted.

The right answer was sethp's for standard posting. The stories that only take a day to post have been specifically submitted to one of the period contests.

I was getting worried as of Saturday evening it was still not published.
I am def no author and this is the first thing I have every really written.
I fully expected it to be rejected.
I hope to get comments from some authors for pointers.
I am just proud that it was actually approved.

You are def an author now. But if you want to become a good author there are some things you need to work on. Like spelling entire words such as definitely.

Fortunately this is a good place to learn and practice the craft. I only read a bit of your story and there are some improvements that can be made. I would suggest trying to find an editor to help out. Visit the Editors forum and the How To forum.
