What amazes me..is the overall lack of coverage....70 years ago, the world changed forever....too often, we are too busy to reflect on the past, to remember those that came before us.....

You forgot that really bad movie that was a mix of From Here to Eternity and 30 Seconds Over Tokyo.
What a shit movie that was. I kept thinking, it'll get better. It doesn't. It's like 600 hours long and never gets better. Holy fuck does that movie suck ass.

We don't have a lot of coverage on the anniversary of Yorktown either. These things are important but we can't spend our lives commemorating everything that ever happened. Eventually 9/11 will fade away, too.

FDR makes one of the great, inspiring, speeches in western history.

He comes off like a rock in a time of crisis.

In reality, he ignored what was going on in both Europe and the Pacific with his head firmly up his ass. It's ashame it took a direct attack on America for him to realize that we could not escape the twin wars already being waged be the Japanese Imperialists and German facists.

That's not quite true but whatever. It's how things looked and in the end that's what matters.

That generation is mostly dead. People usually reflect on what they themselves experienced. We now have 911 and two wars.

Remember that show Rescue 911? That was sorta fun in a Cops-esque kind of way. Didn't have the edge of Cops though. Or was it drunk idiots? Either edge or drunk idiots. Cops had one of those. Let's go with drunk idiots.

OK. I'll grant you that he approved massive lending to the English after the German invasion of France and the low countries. Still, he did not use American force to protect the merchant marines and much of what we were sending was sunk by U-boats.

He didn't do a thing for the Chinese though.

My father in law was a WWII Vet and I had the honor of escorting several men who were at Pearl Harbor during the attack to memorial ceremonies in the years past. Its a solemn day, worthy of our respect.

Bullshit.

You're understating it. It was worse than that.

If I had known how to fly and had access to a plane, I would have bombed the fucking theater myself. Especially since the pre-release trailers showed such great potential.

It was Bush's fault and Owebama's finest hour.
