Editor feedback / rating

Hi there, I've recently become a volunteer editor on Literotica and I'm loving it. However, I can't figure out how I get to see the feedback from my authors, other than the feedback I get from them directly. Do writers get to give feedback on their editors so that others can see it? Do I get rated, and is that rating visible to others?

I've checked my editor profile, which I think would be the obvious place to look - that way other writers could use that information to decide if they want to work with me. I don't think there's anything, but I may be being stupid!

Also, Literotica, a request from me for future changes to your site. Would you be able to show on my editor profile, or ideally my main profile, that I'm an editor and which stories I've edited? In the same way that you show writers and which stories they've submitted?

Many thanks, everyone. Loving Literotica!

Sorry Juicers, the editing folks are a behind-the-curtain kind of thing here. There are no features on Lit for scoring them, rating them, or providing feedback to them in any way.* Bottom line: if you're in this for glory, you're going to be disappointed.

If you're that keen to let folks know what you're up to, you could name-drop the authors or titles you've edited on your own biography page. You might want to ask the author's permission as a matter of courtesy.

*Yes, yes, there is an Editor of The Year Award, though good luck prying that from Mistress Lynn's clutches. :D

Pffttt. ;)

Hey, not looking for glory! Was just a question. Will pull my head back down from that parapet!

Can only speak for myself. Are you also a writer by chance?

Glad to see your excitement about editing. My pleasure comes from helping new writers, encouraging them. And when you have made a difference in their aspirations some will thank you directly.

Those thanks, cherish them. Because others will "assume" it is their "right" to have an editor edit their stories. Not too many of them though.

Be wary of foreign writers. Can get caught up in a real quagmire there.

Never be slow to ask help of others here. Asistance and advice is willingly given.

Since when has editing been a competitive sport?

I understand that writing is competitive, looking for sales (or the Lit equivalent: votes), but editing???

In any case, many of those who edit via this forum are not eligible for EOTY nomination as they have not joined the derelict official VE list.

Easy, snoop. I didn't mean it like that. I was just acknowledging that there was one way for an editor to be recognized by Lit users. Still, the notion of "competitive editing" does conjure a funny image.

Get ready! Get set! Edit!

*fumble fumble* Let's see, hyphenating compounds composed of past participles with nouns. *peeking over at ML and SR to observe, with horror, that they know this rule off the top of their heads*

I think I'd be like the fat kid at Field Day. :(

We could have our very own NaNoEdMo. ;)
