New story posted last night

Damn this Loving Wives is a tough crowd!
My new story, The Last Hitchhiker posted last night and so far it has three comments in almost as many hours but it is getting hammered by voters with a score of only 350. I did my best on this story and feel it deserves better but what the fuck do I know. I only think them up and put them on paper.

Hope you folks will give it a read and let me know what you think.

Also, as you said, LW is a tough crowd. I wouldn't go looking for a lot of support there. Besides, if you're happy with it, who cares?

You know how it is

You write a story and then you go over it again and again polishing it up trying to find the mistakes. Wanting it to be right when you put it out there.
After all that you get to ride the rails of excitement watching the reader totals and see how they vote. I guess I am giving the readers too much power but I want them to like my work.

Just a silly old man wanting to prove he couldn't been a writer if he had tried hard enough.

I feel sure that you know what I mean.

Its a hard course but its exciting

My second most votes on a story is eighty votes on a fem-dom tale from 'fetish', it took since 2007 to get those votes.

This story has gotten 99 votes so far and hasn't been posted for twenty four hours yet. That just blows me away.

I have almost got another story ready to post, it should do pretty well but it won't rival the numbers this story is getting in LW.

I know it is silly but I like watching it soar through its 'New Story' phase before it sinks beneath everybody's notice.

You are giving them a bit too much power, it sounds like. And think about that -- you're putting this out there for complete strangers to read, assess, analyze, whatever. Why care so much about what strangers think? Especially when you know that some will vote low on purpose, or write nasty comments b/c they have nothing better to do.

I like positive feedback, don't get me wrong. And I know I've posted about being curious/puzzled when a story doesn't get the reaction I hope or expect (like my Halloween one), but in the long run -- hell, even the short run -- it matters not.

And if you post in LW, you are wading into troubled waters.

Years ago, I was involved with a married couple and it was a cuck situation most of the time.

I'd fuck the shit out of her and whip her with a dowel while her and I would sling all kinds of abuse at him. You'd think I could write it, but its some kind of weird block.

Oh well, I'll just settle for the incest trolls. It just blows cause they are no where near as original or vicious as the LW trolls.

Yeah I can understand what you are saying, I can't bring myself to write incest stories, it seems that my mind just don't go there very well.
