So I don't post some link I shouldn't, I'll just suggest that you Google the name "Ray Villafane" and check out the links. He does sculptures and this time of year, he does fantastic pumpkin carvings. There are even YouTube videos of his carving in action. Each one takes him about 8 hours. Where's a pumpkin carving smiley when you want one? Sir_Winston?

AND...the below link is also cool, but it has nothing to do with Halloween or carving. Well, maybe carving, if you consider the Statue of Liberty a carving. Actually, it was a casting, but I digress.

Anyway, check this link out if you like spectacular views. And don't stop at the first link. There are other views, too. All are very interesting.

EDITED TO ADD:
Well, maybe the cams would be better to look at when New York isn't in the middle of a nor'easter storm?

Am I weird? That last pic is kind of sexy, in a perverted sort of way.

DVS - It is always nice when you share. His carvings are incredible!

Sir Winston - those are nice pumpkin finds

Am I weird? I get slightly turned on pulling the pumpkin guts out when I carve them or make pumpkin soup.

I love this time of year.

Weird? Well I did think it was a bit strange that you called the insides of a pumpkin "guts", but when thinking about it, I couldn't think of another name. All I could come up with was seeds and icky stuff. Yes, I can see where some people might call that guts.

It is! I expect tentacles to erupt out of their long johns-- both of them.
Um, OK. Erupting tentacles wasn't the perversion I envisioned. I guess you've been watching a few of the horror movies they're showing on cable, this week. That could taint your thought processes, sort of a minor brain washing.

There is really no better term for them.
(If you knew what I did for a living, you would be soooo disturbed.)

I can't wait to wear my t-shirt!

I love that pumpkin picture. It speaks to my inner geek...

I found "Halloween Exploding Candy" (artificially flavored, of course!) at our local Family Dollar store. Twenty-five tiny little bags of Halloween Pop Rocks :D

Speaking of pumpkins, I am beyond being ticked off right now. We're stuck ordering our groceries online because we don't currently have a vehicle. (Thank God we can get them this way.) But I ordered two cooking pumpkins & the absolute cusswords were supposedly out of them! ARGH! Stupid country that doesn't stock canned pumpkin for some unknown bloody reason.

As a side geek note, that's also a letter in the greek alphabet. Specifically the greek letter pi, which makes a p sound.

This would make me throw things.

I second your "ARGH!".

Yes!
But I love the number pi, the mathematical constant (3.14 ad infinitum - hence, the date I first posted it, 3/14).

I am not quite sure what sound the number makes.
*smile*

Regardless, Happy Halloween everyone!

It all depends on if it's aroused or not. Non-aroused sound is a "puh" sound. But, when aroused, that rather timid sound gets um...larger and somewhat harder.

It's a progressive change, from one to the other as well as quite a significant change. Unfortunately, text doesn't give this aroused sound its due. It's really necessary to use audio. Video would be even better, but such viewing should be limited to adults.

The best I can come up with in a text format far limits the aroused sound of Pi in its reality. Just the same, after all of this build up, I feel I owe it to you to at least make an attempt at this aroused sound. I'm sorry, if it doesn't thrill you, because in all its glorious reality, the sound is quite special.

The sound has a moist beginning, then more breathy as it continues. Towards the end, there's the sound of a great exhale. Sorry, this is the best I could do.

PUH.

I know...text just doesn't do it justice. I guess I shouldn't have even brought it up. Sorry. :(

Oh DVS...is that Arial font, in bold type, size 6?

*fans self*

I think you captured the breathy arousal of the pi sound in text quite perfectly.

I'm glad. I was really worried that it wouldn't come through. Woo Hoo for me!:D
