Marvel: The Mutant Outbreak (IC)

Isiah grumbled something unhappily as he dove into the water, he had a lot of gear and keeping it on you when swimming was a bitch even for a super soldier. He let Logan and Spiderman take the lead getting onto the ship and. . .damn. He'd forgotten what it was like to see Logan in action. He really was like a wild animal tearing through men like they were nothing. "I guess if I didn't want anybody dead I should have specified that before we got here, I also shouldn't have brought Logan." Isaiah smiled at that, like he could have made Logan do anything against his will.

"Try to leave some alive Logan, we might need to question them." Isaiah said kicking in a door and descending down into the bowels of the ship. He didn't know where the girl was, but he knew where he'd have put someone like her. At the bottom where she couldn't escape. . .and if necessary could be drown.

He turned a corner and was face to. . .something with a drone. If it had been a hair faster it would have taken his head off with it's fire but he ducked back behind the doorway. "Well I think they know we're here." He pulled his sword axes out and dashed around the corner slicing into the drone. It wasn't as easy as that though and the drone whirred and spun towards him opening fire again nearly catching him on the shoulder. Isaiah ducked behind a door again. "Why does it have to be robots?" He dashed back out slicing the barrel off one of the guns, then took a second stroke bisecting the machine.

"They have a what?" He shouted in response to the kid on the PA system.

As Kimura tapped her foot nervously, she looked up just in time to see two black SUVs pull up on either side of their car. Before she could scream "drive!" at her guards, at least seven agents poured out of the SUVs and surrounded their vehicle after shooting out the tires. She quickly texted 911 to her man on the ship before dropping her phone and putting her hands up.

"Hello, Kimura," said Agent Phil Coulson, apparently pleased at how obvious her hatred of him was in her expression. "Right about now your friends should be meeting my friends. Aren't playdates fun?"

"I didn't hear what he said, either," Spider-Man said to Isaiah, "but I think it had something to do with these drones."

"You mean scrap metal?" Logan added as he spun through the air, slicing two of them in half at once, then leaping onto a third. He was clearly giving in to his rage and bloodlust as he slaughtered guards and split apart drones, but there was also a hint of joy in his wanton destruction.

"This guy doesn't play around," Peter said to the Cap. "I kinda feel sorry for these guards -- sure, they're working for the bad guys, but what if they have families at home?"

After Kris downloaded the ship layout to his wrist console and rendezvoused with the others, they quickly looked it over. Of course it didn't say Psycho Killer Girl Storage, but it at least gave them an idea of where to look.

Back on the upper deck, one of the surviving guards looked up as he saw a small plane fly overhead. At least a dozen agents in black combat gear jumped out and slid down onto the ship on cables. The guard noticed one of them was outfitted with a bow and a quiver of arrows, and there was a single red-headed female with the group. Before the team of agents saw him, the guard vanished below deck and ran for a specific office.

As the guard rushed through the door, he was facing the back of a chair, a puff of smoke rising up from the other side. "Mr. Stane, a plane just dropped a dozen agents on us! What does Kimura want us to do?" The chair spun around to reveal an older man with a bald head, grey beard, an expensive suit, and a lit cigar. He was looking down at his phone.

"Kimura has been compromised," he said with a smirk. "I'm in charge now."

"Y-your orders, sir?" the guard asked nervously.

"I guess I'll have to try out my new prototype a little sooner than expected. Inform the lab that I want it ready to go immediately."

"Yes sir, of course."

After what seemed like forever, Captain X's team finally located Laura's holding cell. They walked toward her, the door behind them showing evidence of being violently ripped open by a pair of claws and a couple of sliced up corpses marinating in their own blood on the floor.

"You really do look like me," Logan said as he stared at her.

"Well, in a few minutes you'll look far worse than her!" a computerized voice rang out through the room. They turned around to see a ten-foot-tall silver robot stomp through the doorway. The design was very similar to Tony Stark's Iron Man suit, right down to the chest arc reactor, which began to grow brighter. A second later, it released a huge beam of white energy that the heroes just barely managed to evade. Unfortunately for Stane, he wasn't thinking about where he was aiming and had blasted right through the holding cell -- X-23 was now free.

"Shit."

"`Wow that's a big suit," Kris said, as he looked at the 10 ft tall suit, His computer quickly begun to analyze the suit. From the look of it, it had the appearance of the Iron man Suit. However, this design was far larger than his was. It was even different from the one he wore.

He saw what he figured was the arc reactor starting to glow brightly; from looking at it, he figured that it was not good. He saw a beam shot right out of the arc reactor and came straight for them.

From what he could calculate he should have been able to hit them, his targeting system should have locked onto them. However, from the way he fired he just did it at random.

"So do we fight or run," Kris quickly asked everyone, it did not matter for him as he was quickly scanning over his suit. From what he could gather, his weapons probably wouldn't be able to do much damage to the unit. Unless he charged for one good blast or once he located a weak point, it should take it out.

Then there was that option let the two people with knives in their hands deal with him, which he figured that they should open that tin suit like a can opener to a can of tuna fish. As he waited for a response he quickly started to charge his own weapon, if he was able to, he would launch an attack at the head unit. If he was right on the calculation, it should disrupt that unit's line of sight forcing him to opening the helmet for him to use line of sight.

"If you die can I have your suit" Kris quickly asked him in hopes that the little distraction would give the others time to come up with a quick plan.

"I don't plan on dying today, son!" Stane laughed before charging forward and kicking Kris hard with his giant metal foot. He suddenly had Logan up on his shoulders and Spider-Man shooting web onto his helmet, but he was easily able to rip off the webbing. He then jumped as high as he could and slammed down onto his back, crushing the Wolverine beneath him. Logan's adamantium skeleton prevented any bone fractures, but he still had significant internal organ damage and it took him a few moments to recover.

The Iron Monger rolled over onto his front and then jumped to his feet, firing off his wrist-mounted machine guns at anyone who was coming at him. Spider-Man shot another strand of web, which Stane grabbed and pulled before Spidey could release it from the shooter. A second later, a giant silver hand was whipping around a red and blue ragdoll by the foot, slamming him into the floor, wall, and anyone nearby.

Laura stared at the door to her cell, the sounds of fighting were getting closer and her nose twitched. The smells were new to the ship, but not to her. She slid out of bed and stood, flexing her bare toes and fingers. As the group closed in on her cell Laura narrowed her eyes. There was another smell, a strange one. There were layers of hair and sweat, pine needles and tobacco. It was a man's scent and yet it was her own scent too.

As they burst into the room she stood staring at the man who looked so much like her. Laura's claws slid from her knuckles. mirroring his, and she was so transfixed that she barely noticed the massive form lurching through the doorway.

Laura twitched to the side as the blast sent a huge chunk of her cell flying past her and crashing into the wall behind her. As the others engaged the metal monstrosity Laura's eyes flickered with indecision. Within moments the group was scattered and the man in blue and red was being tossed around like a ragdoll. Laura clenched her eyes shut tight, sinking into a crouch and covering her ears with her hands. All she could see was the boy and the blood, part of her wanted to scream and part of her wanted to just curl up smaller and smaller until she disappeared.

The massive armored man finally dropped the spider man to the ground, raising the gun on his arm and pointing it at the limp hero. It was like a wire finally snapped in Laura, her eyes shot open and the trembling fled from her body. Like a bolt of lightning she shot forward slipping around Isiah and dropping to slide between the massive suit's legs. There was a flash of blades and the horrible shriek of metal as Laura rolled back to her feet behind the thing. The gun on its wrist fired just as the suit's left leg gave out under it, severed hydraulics spewing liquid all over the ground. The sudden shift caused the gun to swing ride and spray bullets through the ship's hull, tiny circles of sunlight appearing along the dull metal walls.

Isaiah grinned as cut down one of the drones and together the team descended deeper into the ship in search of X-23. "Yeah, I feel a little sorry for anybody who's on the wrong end of Logan too and you want to know the scary thing? He's in a very good mood right now."

The resistance wasn't nearly enough to do more than slightly slow down team. It brought back memories, memories that he was ashamed to admit were pleasant. They had tried over the years he'd stayed in Wakanda to purge him of the warrior spirit and they had succeeded in at least taming it somewhat but now, back in the field, back fighting with comrades for a good cause. It all came flooding back.

"Giant robot?" Isaiah growled

The fight wasn't quite going well as a rocket just missed Isaiah the impact throwing him forward. The Shevarine came squeezing past him and cut out most of a leg saving Spiderman in the process. "Good job!" Isaiah hooked his sword axes over his shoulders and pulled out Vengeance.

"We fight for now, this isn't the kind of guy I want behind me." He shouted at nobody in particular and pulled the trigger sending a solid slug that slammed into the suit sending several sparks that left a gash in the metal. Isaiah stopped. "Really?" The solid slugs were rated as tank busters. "Okay, maybe an explosive round." Isaiah didn't get a second shot off before the giant suit grabbed him by the waist and flung him against a nearby wall. It wasn't enough to more than rattle him.

"Logan. Getting up now would be real convienent."

After a few moments, Logan was back on his feet. He cracked his neck and growled. "Now I'm in a bad mood, bub." In no time at all the Wolverine closed the distance between himself and Stane, slicing off the barrels of his gun and jumping back up on his shoulders, savagely stabbing and slicing at the neck of the suit.

Stane cursed as his Heads-Up Display began flickering. He knew the Big Boss would kill him if he survived this encounter and let them get away, especially X-23. Swallowing his pride, he made the decision to flee, but he would not be going alone.

"Well, time to go, Buttercup!" he said to Laura as he grabbed her small body and shoved her under one arm. He then looked up towards Logan on his shoulder. "I guess you're coming along for the ride." He fired another missile at the wall, blasting it open, and then activated the repulsors in his feet -- luckily the bitch hadn't disabled them -- and blasted off through the hole like a rocket. Once he was outside, he shifted and shot straight up in the air, X-23 under one arm and Logan hanging on for dear life. Stane laughed.

"If you disable my systems now, we all fall to our doom."

"You're not very bright, are you?" Logan said with a laugh before digging his claws in one more time and completely ripping the helmet off the suit. He looked down at the face of a terrified man as the repulsors flickered and died. "We can survive the fall, but not you, bub."

After taking Laura's hand, they jumped off the suit and watched Iron Monger plummet towards the sea below, his weight making him plunge a lot faster. With an enormous splash, Stane hit the water, followed a few moments later by the two human weapons.

"You've got to be fucking kidding!" Isaiah roared rushing to the opening in the hull and watching as the three shot straight up into the air.

Can't fly. The spider kid probably can't hit them that far out and even if he could he ain't dragging me up like that.

"Kris, can you. . .I don't know anything? I hope those two can swim. Regardless I want to get the hell off this boat."

A moment later, several of the agents entered the room. "Hey Cap, we got suits!" Spider-Man called out. "The girl is free, so I suggest we make a quick exit!" And with that, he ran and jumped out the hole in the hull, diving into the water. As he swam past Logan, he warned him as well.

"I know. They followed me," he replied. Peter stopped. "They wanted me to find this girl and I wanted to get my revenge on HYDRA."

"You could have told us the friggin government was tailing you!" Peter screamed. "I wear this mask for a reason! If they catch me, the first thing they'll do is rip it off!" He turned to Laura. "Unless you want to be handed over from one handler to another like a caged animal, I suggest you get as far away from here as possible. Logan, she is your flesh and blood. Were you really just going to pass her along like a piece of merchandise?"

"Yep," he replied without hesitation. He turned to Laura. "Sorry sugar-tits, that's just the way the cookie crumbles."

Spider-man shook his head as they all floated in the water. They had drifted a bit away from the ship, but more agents had arrived and some of them were taking a raft out to retrieve Logan and Laura. "So that's it? You know this HYDRA probably goes a lot deeper. You think a single boat is a good enough revenge?"

"Oh no, this is only the first step," the Wolverine laughed. "The intel they gain from the ship's computers and questioning the few crew members I didn't dismember will lead us to other HYDRA facilities. I'm just getting started, bub."

"Well, have fun on your government-approved murder spree," Peter said angrily. "Cap, I don't think we can use the church anymore. Now that Killer Claws here knows where it is, the government does too. I'm gonna lay low for a while, and I suggest the same to you." And with that Spider-Man swam away as fast as he could.

"Let's go, sugar-tits," Logan told Laura, pulling her towards the raft full of agents.

"Everybody calm the fuck down. Especially you kid." Isaiah sighed trying to keep from sounding emotional. "Here's the plan for now. We'll use the church, yes they know where it is and for now that's fine. These people are well connected and will find us again, I'll work on setting up a new location but the last thing we want is for these people to start trying to trail us and finding out where we live and who our families are. It's better that we just stay someplace they think they can monitor." Isaiah looked to Logan and Shevarine. "As for you two. . .well we should talk. I don't care if you take her out of the country or leave her with me but I would like to know what's going on. And don't be rude, she doesn't look like you or if she does I need to really start reconsidering joining this younger generation and their tolerance."

Laura rose and circled around the fight, darting in to strike when she saw an opening. She had just rolled to the side and was rising when one of the suits massive arms wrapped around her waist. And lifted her like a ragdoll.

Laura raised her claws to slash at the arm when the man suddenly launched into the air, carrying her and the man with claws like hers'. The sudden momentum shift robbed all the strength from her blow and the sides of her claws skittered across the armored shell of the suit.

As they flew upwards Laura felt her stomach shift and nearly threw up, too disoriented to attack. She could barely make out what the two men were shouting when Logan struck and they all plummeted into the water.

Laura floated in a daze for what seemed like a long time, though it was really only moments. As the water lapped up over her ears she caught snippets of the conversation and saw the approaching raft from the corner of her eye.

She felt a strong arm start to drag her through the water, but it was when she heard Isiah mention taking her out of the country that she flashed into movement. The men in the raft, with their guns and uniforms, looked just like Kimura's men to Laura's reeling mind.

In a blink she had grabbed Logan's arm and pulled hard to send her body sliding around his. The man was strong, much stronger than her, but he seemed strangely weighed down in the water and Laura was slippery as an eel. One of her legs hooked around Logan's arm and wrenched it back while she drove her other knee into the back of his neck, forcing his head under water. With a swift thrust she drove the claws on her right hand through the water, the shining blades slicing through the bubbles streaming from Logan's mouth and into his head. She expected to feel her claws pierce through bone and brain but instead her arm was jarred from a hard impact the moment it pierced his skin.

She still had him held underwater but only had a moment to wonder why her blow had failed when she felt a sting in her neck. Reaching up she felt a thin needle-like arrow stuck into her soft skin, then the plunger in the projectile descended and pumped enough tranquilizer into her bloodstream to kill an elephant.

Laura blinked once than collapsed back into the water limply. "I brought that dart for you Logan," called out the man with the bow, approaching on another raft of agents, "but it looks like her temper is even worse than yours."

"Gee, if it isn't Robin fucking Hood," Logan replied to Barton as he lifted Laura up and flung her into the raft, clearly irritated that the little bitch had gotten the upper hand on him. "What, no tights?"

Meanwhile, Spider-Man had disregarded what the Cap said and kept swimming away as fast as he could. He was terrified of being captured by the government, his mask ripped off, his privacy shattered, his Aunt May's heart broken. Worst of all, if his identity became public knowledge, the enemies he'd made in his short career as a superhero would come after his aunt and destroy his home. He couldn't let that happen, so he swam for his life.

Barton aimed his bow at the small red and blue dot moving rapidly in the other direction, but he was stopped by Agent Romanoff. "Let him go for now. He's just a kid. It's not like we don't know where he lives."

"What about the others?"

"You're all free to go for the time being," Romanoff said to the heroes. "Thank you for what you did on that ship -- it made it a lot easier for us to complete our mission. We may call on you to help in the future -- you certainly have not seen the last of us. We'll be in touch."

After Logan climbed into the raft, he turned and gave the Cap a short two-fingered salute and pulled out a cigar from a waterproof container in his pocket.

Isiah smirked. "Your serious? You keep cigars in a water proof container? I don't suppose you used to be a Boy Scout and if so did you come prepared for a friend to celebrate with?"

Isaiah watched Spiderman speeding off through the water. He'd be back. Or he wouldn't. Either way there was no point in going to set up a location the kid couldn't find which meant he was definitely heading back to the church. "You know where he lives? I'd ask what you know about me but I have a feeling I would be extremely upset."

"As for what we did. . .well it had nothing to do with you and hopefully we won't cross paths again, at least not too soon. I'm not gonna try to out swim ya but trust me I'm no push over and I'm not here to hand myself over to the government."

"Well if you do the calling I'm sure to answer," Kris quickly told the female agent.

He had his eye on the bowman or known as Robin Hood by Logan, if the man fired at Spiderman then he would fire on him. Well he should fire on the arrow and blast it out of the air. But if he did that would the bowman fire on him, he could always blast them both.

"Such a shame I really liked that old guys suit" Kris noted as he looked into the water, if he didn't survive the water pressure then maybe he could retrieve the suit for him to study and use.

From what he gathered on what the female agent had said, he figured that who ever she worked for knew about him as well as the shop he worked in. He quickly told himself that he would have to scan the entire yard to make sure it was clean of bugs. While he did that he would have to scan, the faces of the agents that had arrive to thank them for what they did.

“ I also have to agree in that i don’t want to hand myself over to the government” Kris said quickly. But if they were the government then they would know where he worked at along with what he dose. The other thing that bothered him was that they could know about the few suits he had built in the shop.

"What will you do with her, lock her up like what they did?" He quickly asked them

He contemplated on sending a SpyDer to follow them, it was small and most would think that it was a normal spider. but he figured that with their training they would notice it and track it back to him, though it would be interesting to get some good images of the female agent

Romanoff smiled as the two men said they would not hand themselves over to the government. "You say that as if you think you have a choice. And there is nothing more you need to know about this girl -- it's classified. No more questions. Move along."

She smirked again as the raft turned and headed back towards the ship. Once they retrieved Stane and his suit, they set the HYDRA vessel on a course down the coast towards a hidden military base.

"Uuughhh..." Peter groaned as he sat up in bed. He was still sore as hell from the fight the night before, and he did not get very much sleep. But it was his birthday -- he was finally eighteen! He had plans to relax the whole weekend and left his Spider-Man suit in the closet.

After school on Monday, Peter finally decided to suit up and swing by the church real quick just to see if anyone was still there. He saw Isaiah and shrugged. "Hey Cap. Sorry I bailed like that -- I was just so scared of the government blowing my identity, you know? I got family and friends that I have to think about."

Isaiah made a not to make sure that he found out what he could about this agency as soon as he could. He'd only just gotten back and already the government was making threats. "I have a choice. I haven't gotten this old by making mistakes." He said. He didn't bother asking any more questions though, they wouldn't answer and he wasn't in the mood to challenge them to a fight just yet.

Isaiah had gone back to the church just like he'd said he would and spent the last two days cleaning the place up with the help of some of the local kids, one of them a punk he'd thrown out earlier. It was still a work in progress but it was no longer covered in drugs and filth. He'd found that they had a basement that had been sealed up since the late sixties, a perfect place to set up his lair. He kept everybody away from the entrance, for now putting an expensive rug over it and a desk on top of that.

He treated that room like an office with an American Flag hanging on the wall, his sword axes hanging to either side of it, the grenade launcher on top of it. That was where he was when Spiderman arrived.

"There is no need to apologize for bailing Spiderman. You and I might not have a lot in common but a healthy distrust of the US government is something I can relate to. Have a seat." Isaiah motioned towards a pew he'd dragged into the office and he sat on his desk and told Spiderman his story. "I don't know if they were bluffing or not but the agents on the boat claim to already know where you live. I know you don't want advice from some guy old enough to be your grandfather but I'll give it anyway. Your family is in danger because of the things you do and wearing a mask will only protect them for so long. If you want them to be safe, truly safe, the best thing you can do is go home, forget all this ever happened and never put that mask on again. Because sooner or later someone will find out. If you choose to do this you should probably tell anybody you live with and love. I don't need a mask, anybody who knew me is long since dead and I wouldn't even know where to look to find out if I have nieces or grandchildren or. . anything." He smiled. "I'll leave it up to you find a more secure place for us to meet. Someplace I can get into would be nice, I can't climb the walls or fly or whatever crazy shit Red did the other day. Till then this place is easy to find and besides I can help the community heal."

He took in what she had told him, he would have liked to have more info on the girl and what they will do to her. He watched as she left on the raft, he had scanned her face as well as the other person and saved it for him to scan it later on.

"Later lass" was all that Kris said as he watched the boat head towards the boat, which in turn headed down the coast. With the ship gone it would allow him to scan the ocean later on.

The rest of the night was restless for him as he went over his suit, studying the damage he took. It held up to what that the bald man did to him but on closer inspection, one could see a slight dent in the armor. From that damage, he knew that he would have to invest in lighter material that was also strong.

The last half of the night, he spent trying to find that suit, but he had no luck in his venture. Either the current took it, unlikely or that female agent took it. Alternatively, the other possibility he survived and escaped somehow.

Sunday for him was a good day off, he slept through part of the day and was awake through out the rest of the day. He was working on projects that he had to do as well as run facial scans of the people face he just meet.

Monday he was off to work again, it was interesting there was talk about the incident, it was mostly rumors of who was behind it. Along with that, they need to create something to deal with the people who are starting to develop new powers and abilities.

With his work done, not that it matter as he wasn't giving a true scheduled. He could come in when he wanted to and at different times. the only time he did arrive at a certain time when it was requested. Once on the road he decided to stop by a coffee shop to get a drink. before heading back to the church. He quickly stopped the car at the church, He did a good job on fixing it up.

"Good afternoon, sorry if I'm late my job took longer than expected" kris spoke up

he caught the last part of the conversation, he debated on whether he should tell them to meet at his workshop. it could work as long as he dont show them the underground parts, but then again it could be a good sign of trust.

A slip of cloth over skin, a flick of the wrist, the constant click of heels against the sidewalk. She were supposed to be in hiding, but it seemed the best way to hide was to be where everyone could see her. So that's exactly what she did: High heels, business ware with a pleated skirt and a short, empty purse over her shoulder. Her hair was done up in a bun and she walked down the street almost as if she owned it. Fortunately, everyone else seemed to be doing exactly the same thing. A Manhattan thing, surely. Did she work in any sort of occupation that needed such attire? Not currently. Not now that she had become this. Truth be told, she didn't even know what she was looking for. She had no particular urges to do anything or go anywhere, it was more the urge to remain mobile. She had remained hidden long enough.

That was Amy. Dr. Amy Jones, specifically. She no longer existed according to government records, including at Oscorp where she had previously been employed. She still introduced herself as such, though she wasn't even aware if that was her real name or just what the Other told her it was. Not that it mattered.

Her gaze passed over the crowded midday streets, people bustling across the streets and desperately trying to flag down taxis. Her ears pricked slightly, as though she were hearing a vague whisper. Or a muffled scream. She took her next right into an alleyway that made a sharp left roughly twenty feet in where it was hidden from public view. She stepped around the various pieces of trash and the dumpsters up against the buildings until she came to that corner, then took a peek around. A pair of men were busy pulling a black bag over a woman's head and attempting to shove her in the trunk of a black coupe.

How rude.

She stepped out from around the corner, her heels clicking audibly in the alleyway. The men obviously heard and turned to look at her while the woman stopped squirming, noticing the mens' lack of attention to her. One man nodded at the other, who then started walking towards Amy, pulling another bag out of his pocket. She continued walking forward, seemingly unconcerned.

"Excuse me, but I believe the woman would like to leave," Amy said in a loud, clear voice. The men laughed.

When he made an attempt to put the bag over her head, she closed the distance in a quick step forward, grabbing his wrist and scything his legs out from under him. She drove a palm into his gut without releasing his arm, flipping him completely over and dislocating the shoulder. A brief pause as she slammed him into the ground face-first, knocking him out cold, then she continued forward to the other man, who released the other woman and was quickly reaching for something on his belt. Another quick sidesteps forward, a lifted leg and a spin on her heel and the top of her foot connected with the side of his jaw, breaking it and sending him into a nearby dumpster where he didn't move once settling.

Amy knelt down next to the woman, unbinding her wrists and pulling the bag off her head. She reached into her coat and pulled out an official-looking Manhattan Police Department badge.

"I'm with the MPD, Miss, everything's alright. I need you to get out of here, but an officer will be on the street just out front in five minutes. Wave him down and explain what happened. Go." She said it calm and collected, and the woman seemed to buy it because she murmured a quick "thank you" and ran out of the alley.

The badge was fake, clearly, and the number on it led to a blank police record. She stood back up and looked at the two men laying on the ground, shaking her head.

"Tsk, tsk. When will you people learn?"

She dropped her bag into the trunk of the car and closed it, then knelt down next to each man and searched them for anything interesting. Wallets, paperwork, car keys, pair of handguns with spare mags, it was all taken and placed in the backseat of the car. She had to be quick, however, because the officer could be along any moment now. She hadn't lied about that, she had seen the officer earlier and knew how long it would take him to get through traffic.

She decided it was about time, so she rolled her shoulders and cracked her neck, closing her eyes for a few seconds. When she opened them again, they were glowing a vivid green. Her entire form seemed to groan and shift while she doubled over, catching herself from falling with her hands on the ground. She coughed violently and shook, fur growing out of her skin and taking her body completely. She growled long and low as her features lengthened and compacted, hands becoming paws and face elongating into a snout, teeth growing several sharp inches.

When she finally rose to her feet again, it was no longer she but they. They turned their now-massive form towards the men, stepping over to the furthest and sniffing him, closing their eyes to think about where they may have smelled him before. A few scents and places came to mind, but nothing special. Their jaw cracked and they growled as their mouth opened terrifyingly wide, then they leaned down and fit in one foot followed by the other, then began to devour his form, the process taking just seconds before he was gone without a trace down the gullet of the beast in the alley. They turned and move over towards the other, repeating the process with him but with less care, swallowing him sideways and breaking most of his bones in the process. The men didn't survive the encounter, it was safe to say. Memories flooded into their mind, situations similar to this but high in number and all very recent. The same paths was taken each time afterwards, always leading back to the same building on the outskirts of the city, curiously where they couldn't remember seeing any police in their memories of those of the men. Over a dozen women by just these two men, and they weren't the only ones kidnapping women in the city.

How it went by so long without being noticed by the police was unknown, but they were the ones who were going to put an end to it. They wouldn't have to hunt for food for weeks after this one glorious hunt! Growling in satisfaction with their findings, they rose back up to their hind legs and contained themselves once again, the physical changes to their body receding and returning the woman once again in the same attire as if nothing had happened. She grabbed the keys and got into the car, pushing in the clutch and turning the keys to start it and pull out of the alley calmly. She knew the path, all that was left was to get there. She knew how many there were and where they would be, even when their watch shift was lightest. She would catch them unaware and slaughter them all, then free those they had kidnapped.

They were moving the women tonight, along with some sort of VIPs that the men she devoured didn't know the full story about. She didn't particularly care. If they were important to a trafficking ring then they were subject to her wrath just as much as the men before them.

As Kris walked in Isaiah tuned to acknowledge him, and so did Spiderman with a slight nod. "So, has that calmed you down a little kid? Cus this has to be something you do because you want to do it. Completely voluntary and no strings attached. I'm not Hydra, I'm not whoever that redhead and archer were. I'm not government. If you ever want to walk away you can walk away. Just know that if you need someone to have your back I'll be here. Or at least someone who knows how to get word to me will be."

Spiderman thought about it for a long moment then nodded. "I'll keep that in mind." Then he swung out through the 'skylight' that hadn't really been part of the original design.

Isaiah had an urge to shout at him, but he wasn't actually annoyed at the kid. He was annoyed at the hole and he was completely aware of how irrational that was.

Then he turned to Kris. "Good to see you. I wasn't sure how many of you would actually show. I was hoping our Redhead would show up at least. There was no official time. I know we all have our various secrets but I think it's important we have places to meet, keep in touch and the like. I had a lot of friends who helped me get this far."

Before either of them could say anymore a couple of black gangster looking men can bursting into the church. They'd look dangerous if they weren't practically tripping over each other. "Isaiah, you gotta come quick. I think some of those Oscorp Monsters are still on the loose."

"Lead the way Damian." He turned to Kris. "You want to come? I don't want to guilt trip you or anything but if a bunch of Oscorp monsters are running around I might be in over my head if I go with just these two punks." He smiled playfully since he was fully aware that he was trying to guilt trip him a little. He also honestly didn't know what he planned to do beyond investigate if he didn't come. Maybe try to contact that government agency. He was sure they were listening enough that if he called the Daily Bugle and started screaming hysterical about Hydra, monsters and a government coverup they'd be there before he hung up but that wasn't just a last resort, that was the resort after last.

Without really waiting for a response he followed Damian to the sight. The cops hadn't shown yet, probably because this was the part of town that cops didn't exactly visit without good reason, and an area where the locals didn't call the cops without better reason.

"I don't know what did this, it certainly looks like those beasts but I don't know why they wouldn't have eaten the bodies or where they'd even hide. They don't seem smart enough to hide."

He listened to the conversation between Isaiah and Spiderman, with their conversation over with he took off without a second word and left the two of them all alone.

"It is good to see you once more," Kris quickly said as he took a sip from his cup.

"A place to meet up", "I may know of a place, though I will have to check something out first"

Kris quickly turned his head to see two men came running into the church both of which almost tripped over one another. What ever they had to say was important; it was then that he heard that some of those monsters were still on the loose.

He figured as much, but he was not 100 percent sure but they did have animal so some of them would hide and eat when they get a chance.

"Guess I could come along, though I don't have my armor on" Kris told him as he followed him. In fact, the suits that were available to him he was running them through maintenance on all systems as well as combat simulations so that he could improve on them. As for he other suits he had the designs but getting some of the material would be hard as the prototypes were made out of material that he knew wouldn't last long in a fight.

However, he did have that wrist blaster so if the shit hits the fan he would be able to defend himself somewhat.

"If they didn't eat the bodies maybe what ever it is, is just killing them for sport," Kris said as he kneeled down to take a closer look at the body. Maybe if he exam it closer he may find organs missing but he did not want to disturb the body and get blame for the killings.

"Almost like the beast of tsavo " Kris said as he stood up, Issiah was right, that it did not look like the creatures did not even try to hide. Then it could possibly be a one with human intelligence

" But we have yet to rule out the possibility that a human did this, and in the hopes that it would be blamed on those creatures"

Isaiah nodded. "The Beast of Tsavo, I remember reading about that as a boy. Lets hope we aren't dealing with something like that. As I recall that was a particularly wily beast and the last thing we need is smart monsters."

Isaiah continued inspecting the scene spreading out a little bit in his search for clues. During his years in Wakanda he had become an experienced tracker. Several decades of living with people who still valued nature had that effect, but he he hadn't learned much about how to track in an urban jungle. There wasn't any bent grass here, no broken branches, no soft soil for foot prints. "You are also right that we haven't ruled out that a human could have done this, I've read stories about the things that men sometimes do but. . .I don't know what I hope. If it's a man then I hope to never meet someone so evil, but it'll be a problem that can be solved by calling the police and stepping back. If it's one of those things from Ozcorp or worse someone related to that HYDRA group."

A frightening thought wandered into his mind. "They cloned Logan once that we know about, if they could do it once is there anything stopping them from having an army like that girl?" He really didn't want to think about that as a possibility. Stopping Laura had been difficult and dangerous, the idea that there could be a small army of them ready to be unleashed and possibly fully controlled. No, if that were the case they wouldn't have put as much effort as they did into getting her back would they?

Too many questions, best to narrow it down a little. "I don't suppose you can do that blood splatter thing?" When Kris looked at him Isaiah spoke again. "Sorry, one of the shows I watched on my boat trip over here was called Dexter and. . .I don't know when exactly America started idolizing serial killers how is he the hero? Anyway he does this thing where he walks around a crime scene and can tell by where the blood is exactly what happened." He figured it was close enough to how he would track in the jungle that people who lived in the city might be able to do it, even if he couldn't a push in the right direction might give Isaiah a clue.
