Race card - Played once again..

Today on Face The Nation, GOP presidential hopeful Herman Cain claimed that Planned Parenthood wants to “kill black babies” and is part of an organized effort to commit “genocide” against the black community:

BOB SCHIEFFER: Okay. I want to ask you, since we’re on the subject of abortion, it was at one point back there when the question of Planned Parenthood came up and you said that it was not Planned Parenthood, it was really planned genocide. Because you said Planned Parenthood was trying to put all these centers into the Black communities because they wanted to kill Black babies–

CAIN (overlapping): Yes.

SCHIEFFER: –before they were born. You still stand by that?

CAIN: I still stand by that.

SCHIEFFER: Do you have any proof that that was the objective of Planned Parenthood?

CAIN: If people go back and look at the history and look at Margaret Sanger’s own words, that’s exactly where that came from. Look– look up the history. So if you go back and look up the history– secondly, look at where most of them were built. Seventy-five percent of those facilities were built in the Black community.

Watch the interview here.

Both of Cain’s proof points are demonstrably false.

Cain’s statement about the location of Planned Parenthood clinics is wildly inaccuate. According to a study by the Guttmacher Institute from January, “Fewer than one in 10 abortion clinics are located in predominantly African-American neighborhoods, or those in which the majority of residents are black.

Politifact previously evaluated the Cain’s claim that Planned Parenthood was created to “kill black babies” and deemed it “a ridiculous, cynical play of the race card.”

In 2004 and 2006 Cain led a radical group that produced radio advertisements accusing Democrats of wanting to kill “black babies.” Cain himself provided the voiceovers for some of the ads.

Planned Parenthood is only for abortions?

News to me.

Blacks are about 14 percent of the population yet account for about 30 percent of the abortions.
Yeah, I'm sure I can find plenty of people who'll swear up and down Cain is just flat wrong.

Cain can't play the race card...

...remember: he's black.

But he's a Republican. And as we all know, thanks to people like Drixxx and Janeane Garofalo pointing it out for the rest of us, Republicans are racist. Especially the black ones.

Found some interesting pix of Margaret Sanger speaking to Ku Klux Klan groups.

As you can see on page 2 of Planned Parenthood's annual report for 2010, they admit to performing 324,008 abortions last year...

BTW:

I'm a huge fan of posting actual facts. They support an argument beautifully. That being said - these numbers are from 2008, account for 3% of all services performed, and I'm not sure how it all ties together.

If blacks account for 30% of abortions..
and Planned Parenthood gets 3% of their business from abortions..
What time will the train arrive in Philadelphia?

Here's what I want to know. How have the numbers shifted in the past couple of years now that the cost of abortions is funded by the government?

I do love how they list services as "complimentary." The first complimentary paperwork everyone completes is to discern need for government assistance.

Facts are on his side.

Democrats have said that to. Take the NYC stats, for example.

I'm with Uncle Herman on this issue.

You, cracker, just don't like his blunt honesty about the nature of the plantation masters...

OREO hater!

All I gotta add is, whoever's doing it, dont stop!

Tween abortions and drive-bys wont be long before affirmative action is a Mexican program.

So Herman Cain is saiyng that black folks have no free will and are too dumb to decide on their own whether or not to use the service provided by Planned Parenthood.

Nice to see how little faith he has in people.

I think the same of the Flea Baggers.

Actually, you have summed up the Democrat position.

Uncle Herman is telling them to leave the plantation and its masters who keep them ignorant on purpose by excusing purposeful lack of effort with affirmative action and foul cries of racism towards anyone who would demand of them a work ethic and a love of education.

Same message I got from my teacher on the reservation.

"Look at those lazy bucks, blaming the white man for all their problems. All they have to do is get a job! I did! You did! Look at us now!"

I do not see Cain's problem with this. You put your business where the market is and that seems to be exactly what has happened in this situation.

The market is simply responding to demand, just as his own company did in order to generate his fortune.

Is he a free-market capitalist or is he a race baiter?

Any sort of set-aside eventually harms its recipients. When we were flush with money there was plenty of it for all the local social service providers, then the waterhole evaporated and most had no idea how to cope without referrals with purchase orders.

Sensei K told me "Never teach for free! No one appreciates it! This is America! The more they pay, the more they think they're getting what they paid for!"

:) Wanna see my Million-dollah wound?

Its true. I raise lovely organic veggies. I cant give them away. People would rather go to WAL-MART and buy expensive culls.

What changed my thinking about pricing was some work we did at a battery plant. All the batteries got the same guts, but the plant had cases for almost every major brand. So the Sears DIE HARD was the same battery as the ECONO-WONDER sold at discounter auto parts stores.

I learned that at the paper warehouse.

;) ;)

And the brand stuff was cheaper than the generic at the wholesale level because it was a guaranteed order.
