In another awesome example for the merger of corporate and state power, the United States government AKA corporate police state is planning on passing shocking draconian intellectual property legislation which mimics that of Chinese internet censorship.

These laws will CRUSH online free speech and effectively kill the internet. The internet will be ran wholly by big corporations who will exploit it as merely being a tool for profit and advertisement, rather than a means of freely sharing information. Websites like this one may even be shut down for merely LINKING to copyrighted material.

Also, did I mention that linking to copyrighted material on the internet will become a felony crime?

And pirates really own the internet. It's to easy to set up your own server & whatnot. If they take what we now call the "internet" we'll just make our own.
