Given the number of "politicians in his pocket" stories doing the rounds it fucking well better be. Seemingly, without Murdoch papers supporting you there is no chance of election in Britain. And you won't get their support unless you accept his agenda.

the editors place enormous pressure upon their journos to get the stories first, and bigger and better headlines are demanded to draw the buyers. to think that the editors have no inside knowledge of where these stories came from - the methods used to get them - is naive. brookes phoned gordon brown to let him know they'd aquired information - private medical information - about his son's medical condition and that they intended to run with it. this personal information was not come by legally.

murdoch's bskyb plans are scuppered for now at least; and somehow i don't think it's gonna go down too well about the hacking of the queen/royal family's phones. again.

As the phone hacking scandal that roiled his father's international news company deepened, James Murdoch is stepping down as Executive Chairman of News International.

The AP reports that News Corp., owned by James' father Rupert Murdoch, said he was stepping down "to focus on the company's international TV business."
