Can someone tell me what happens to the story file when you upload it and it gets rejected? And deleted stories for that matter? What happens to the file?

While this is true of current storage, it is also the nature of commercial organisations that they take backups of their files at pre-set intervals, and so a deleted story will still reside in the back-ups, sometimes for years. As I never reuse my backup medium (CD-RW), I still have files from ten years ago! It's the nature of digital storage that parts of any deleted file still exist until the storage space is needed. "Deleting" a file simply changes the title of the file and marks the space as available for reuse. Unless there is a specific backup function which archives deleted files, eventually deleted files are covered over and disappear forever.

Yes, I'm wondering because I don't want any of the stories I've had rejected or requested be deleted to reappear or be shared with anyone.
