I am pretty sure I am ready to have a branding done.
I want kanji lettering that means slave...but here is my problem
I want it to interpret properly to say slave or his slave or slavegirl depending on which I like best once I see all three but I cant find a site that has his slave or slavegirl and the slave lettering is interpreted in what seems to be a negative way to me.
Help?

I'm not sure how valid it is. Have you tried looking into a tattoo artist that specializes in kanji? Maybe a college in your area can advise you on an expert in kanji. As I am sure you know, with the internet you never know what is accurate and what is BS. Good Luck!

Kanji and Chinese characters are identical. A Japanese person who speaks no Chinese at all can read a newspaper printed anywhere in China.

You might want to look at Japanese hiragana fore the beauty that they are...

and the other thing is -- what kind of a slave? you might think about a slightly different word, such as concubine-- although the thesaurus seems to miss the mark with it entirely.

Could also check a dictionary (print preferrable over online). That should give you the correct lettering so you don't find later you have something totally unrelated and useless permanently on your flesh.

That's not quite right - the Chinese newspaper would make no sense to the Japanese speaker. Yes, they can read it, because they have the same characters...but it would come out as gibberish.

So there is no specific symbol/word for him or girl?

Well, if you attach the kanji for female 女 to the one of slave 奴隷 you get "odalisque"＝ 女奴隷　(pronounced "on-nah-do-re-e")
Perhaps that would work for you?

As the font that appears here is not particularly precise in showing the strokes, let me know if you wish to receive the bitmap file ^_^

I once saw one that was "obey" that was very pretty, but I don't know if it was true or not.

It is going on my ass. I'm thinking down one cheek off to the side a bit but I am not going to have the last word on it lol

I like that placement, and that would make the more complicated strokes show up more. I was more worried about it ending up being too small to read, or missing a stroke or something.

Very large down the outside of the thigh might look cool too.

Plus, if you know what it means, you know what it means. You don't have to be fluent in said language.

Its about it being different in general, it allows me to do what my heart wants without worrying about the all too nilla world around me who will only know it means what i tell them it does.

I first have to say that I am a big fan of the kanji idea, because it just looks cool and can be a subtle thing if most people around you would not be able to read it. That said, I wanted to nudge that maybe it could be something more symbolic and meaningful for you? Maybe design something? If I think of slavery, circles come to mind easily... cuffs, collars, rings, infinite commitments, so I would consider incorporating a circle. I happen to be both part irish and have an affinity for celtic knots, and have entertained getting a tattoo of one many times. Knots in general definitely nudge being bound to something or someone... and they are also very cool designs. Think about the images that represent slave to you... and incorporate them.

I just think if it is going to be a part of your body that incorporating symbolism that is very personal to you might make it feel more special... a reminder of how special and unique a gift that you are... which is something to be proud of. Just my 2 cents.

Beautiful! I think barbed wire could be very striking on an ankle indeed. Whatever you choose, I wish you complete contentment and pride with how it comes out!

LOL, that doesn't work for me. I am finding for the important things, I need to feel more than familiar with the language (that being english) for it to connect deeply for me.
