"Ireeeeeeeene, good ni-i-ight, good niiiiiiiiiiiiight, Ireeeeeeeeeeeene . . ."
". . . we watch TV 'til half past three,
turn out the lights, Irene."

"Well, I'll be a dirty bird!"
I just went slumming with some plain old hamburgers and some quality time with a guy named Jack. We go way back to high school... er... I mean I didn't meet him til I was 21. Anyway Jack is not always the best of friends he usually gives me one hell of a head ache.
But it's amazing how a couple of aspirin and a big glass of water before bed smoothes out the relationship.![]()

Interesting...I've known Jack for a long time, and he's the only one of my drinking buddies who's never given me a headache. A couple of my colleagues from Tennessee are friends of his, too, and they tell me he's never given them a headache either.![]()
I don't generally get hangovers. I don't really drink enough to get them, I just drink til everything is pleasantly dulled at the edges and stop when I can't stop laughing at something stupid.
Pre-season - who cares.
[Even if it was the Steelers]
I never tried to get drunk but when I was young it took so little to make me silly it was hard not to be. I remember the last day of Basic Combat Training. They let each of us buy a six pack to while away the last afternoon. I literally couldn't finish mine.
Now I tend to restrict myself to a couple of glasses of wine with dinner or a bottle of beer. Note that's tend to. Tonight might be a different story, given the choice of spiritous beverages in the bottom drawer of the pantry.
Let's see, if I start by putting some Kaluha on a dish of ice cream and follow it up with a glass "or so" of Bailey's Irish Cream or maybe the African version called Amarula . . .
