Thank you for sharing :rose: It seems that you have taken a musical odyssey. Do you play for an audience/clubs as well as for pure pleasure?

During my time as a dance teacher (voluntary) I have played clarinet to the students. I did a duet with a street busker in Manchester during one parade day some time ago which was fun :) Other than that, it's been just family and friends and now my two neighbours...

I'm sure the duet was more than fun - it must have been an experience.

Do you still teach dance?

Unfortunately I work more or less full time now as a quality manager. Which reminds me... I'm going to London on Tuesday to collect my certificates :) I was told this morning I had passed my three exams and now I can do the job knowing I am a full professional quality manager and ISO auditor :)

Which leaves your time severely limited, I take it?

Congratulations! You must be incredibly proud! And how are you planning to celebrate? ;)

TRT and I already did celebrate this afternoon with our neighbours. We broke out the wine and soft drinks for our children :)

Less about me fire_breeze ;) What are your ambitions? That is if you don't mind sharing? :)

With the more interesting celebrations happening after dark :p

Ah... but I do enjoy talking about you, Sienna :rose: ;).

Not at all. I'm working towards my advanced degree which has been a long time ambition, as well as having several personal ambitions.

:D Did you read about the lastest research in the UK about bisexuality in women fire_breeze. An item I posted on here over a week ago? I am assuming you are sapphic (bi-sexual female) ? ;)

I believe I did - I have to go back and refresh my memory.

I'd like to say that I defy most labels ;) After all, pleasure is pleasure, is it not, Sienna? ;)

Where's the post?
And what's with the lists?

I agree. I am not really a lesbian because I adore men. I can not live without them :) And in the same respect I have known since my sexual awareness years I also find other women attractive, sexually, or Jules and I would not be as close as we are.

When I began studying psychology, in particular sexology, I realised that the theory that 8o% of women in the world are capable of making love to each other. My lecturer confirmed this believing that it should not be a theory but fact. He studied sexology in depth for decades.

Then a tv documentary recently revealed 1oo years of research almost proving that women are naturally attracted to one and other. Taboo's hide this in many cultures all over the world. So, if you are sapphic or lesbian, you are naturally NORMAL :)

I am actually going to be working with a leading expert in sexual theory in a cultural context next semester, which is very apt to this conversation.

I remember one scholar, I believe he was a product of the 40s, who said that women, in general (if I recall correctly, he gave a 75%), seek out a certain intimacy in sex. He theorised that it was because most women in the Western world are holistic thinkers whereas most men are linear thinkers. Women need, according to him, to find constant companionship whereas it is not as important to men. I'm not saying that I necessarily agree with this scholar on the last part, but it is an interesting theory nonetheless.

The question is how one labels oneself? For example, many bisexuals seek out romantic relationships and intimate commitment with both sexes - as well as sexual, whereas 'hetero-flexibles' (those who would engage intimacy/sex with all genders) do not.

So where would you categorise sapphics? ;) Or are these categories a remnant of the Enlightenment/Rational era which has caused much devastation within our holistic understanding of ourselves and our environment? ;)

Basically without getting too complex fire_breeze, we women are simply bi-sexual or lesbian by nature, no matter where in the world they come from. It is cultures that block their "openness" and like I said taboos... think from your own point of view of thought... how do YOU personally feel regarding this? Be honest and open minded.

I hesitate in giving universals and saying that all women are like this. I know some who are very open minded and simply have no desire, nor curiosity, to be with other women. It has nothing to do with taboo or cultural blocking, but rather it is part of their innate nature.

That being said, I do believe that many women - and men - are inherently bi-sexual. Again, I know some men who feel not desire to be in a sexual relationship with other men, but many men would find other men sexually attractive, and would have fleeting moments of curiosity.

This is why I prefer to think of sexuality as a fluid sliding scale as opposed to a rigid 'this-or-that orientation'.

I've been playing both clarinet and piano since I was 12. I was meant to be some music genius, but that was rediculous from the start. I love both instruments and I had my own ideas for playing them for pure pleasure. So I sacked my music teacher, fell in love with smooth jazz and play by hear as well as make up my own smooth jazz rhythms :)

Previous post to MrBrett:

Hey, I also play the piano. I have for the last 10 years. I playing everything from Jazz to classical. What are some of your favorite things to play?

I respect your philosophical view fire-breeze :) Thank you :)
