Lately I've been seeing some Annonymus poster leaving rather scathing comments on people's stories. There's nothing ever really constructive left for the story's author to glean from these comments, and they're all signed "DBRS".

Has anyone else gotten tired of this person's negativity?

Whoever this DBRS guy (or gal) is, I ask them to come forward and identify themselves. Your negative comments aren't appreciated and I'll state for myself that such un-constructive comments aren't wanted.

Do yourself a favor, learn to give CONSTRUCTIVE critisism -- if you really want to help authors grow and learn to write better, this is a must for you to learn.

Otherwise, do everyone a favor and take the old golden rule from my grandmother's days: If you can't find anything HELPFUL to say, DON'T say anything at all.

Your bete noire is only one of many, and there is a very funny and VERY long thread somewhere around here, titled "Dear Anonymous"

It's not about helping you write better, it's about your story not conforming to their lopsided mores. They want you to write only stories they approve of. If you don't, you're scum and vermin and should be expunged from the site.

Hmmm, reminds me of another thread here. ;)

Yes I have been hit by him more than once. And he doesn;t even make sense. Last time he commented it was becuase my story was 5 lit pages long and he said anything that long should be in novels and novellas.

2nd one was even dumber he titled it dumb parents and said the parents in my story don;t try to help the daughter they mess her up more. In the chapter in question they send her to counciling and the mother takes her away just the two of them to talk.

I think he did give me a compliment once but he is usually pretty stupid.

Now I have also noticed he is followed around sometimes by a "IMMurdy" who usually picks on him. A trolls troll!

Pay him know mind just a boob.

My grandmother had a favorite saying that's applicable here, to wit: "It takes a carpenter's skills to build a barn, but any jackass can kick it down."

Ignore this troll and all his/her ilk. ;)
