Okay, I was sick of gardening and started cleaning out my PM In-box. I came across this PM I received from this dude that was giving me crap about me not "understanding" bi sex. (I deleted his stupid ass, BTW ) Anyways, that got me thinking (actually procrastinating = I told you I was sick of gardening). Is there such a thing as bi sex?

I grok WHO a bisexual is: someone that is sexually attracted to both men and women. But that doesn't mean they are having bi sex.

As far as I always knew there are only two kinds of sex = hetero and homo. Even if a chick is getting dicked in one end and is eating pussy on the other, that STILL isn't bi sex. That's hetero at one end and homo at the other. SHE might be a bisexual (D'uh), but the sex isn't.

Have I got something wrong here? Is there some scenario I'm missing?

I'd say bi sex is sex with someone that is bisexual. I don't see how it's any different than, say, furry sex where you have sex with someone dressed as an animal or midget sex where you have sex with a midget.

As a practicing bisexual, Amy, I'd say that I have no definite answer. Some of the guys I've been with have been incredibly queer, and some of them very heteronormative, and the whole approach to sex is very different. feels like two different sexes. Same with women-- crunchy granola lesbians can be as normative in their approach, as any hetero vanilla type. Or, not.

I do not define sex as one single thing. A male penis in a female vag is pretty hetero, sure. But what about a strapon? What about if she's sucking my strapon? What about if he's fisting her, and has never touched her veen with his peen?

How about if she's fingering his asshole? Or vice versa?

If I'm fucking in all-male mode, what do you call that sex-- with women or with men? Since my body doesn't have the typical plumbing that most men have...

Well, my first reaction was to wholeheartedly agree with Safe. There is no bi sex, just sex between either people of opposite genders or sex between people of the same gender. But, then after reading Stella's reply, the wheels started to turn. (Sometimes that hamster needs a little help getting started. )

Safe, feel free to correct me, but I assume the person who PM'd you was talking about sex between bisexual people? As in people who are attracted to people of both genders? I've had both straight and bi male partners, and yes, I have noticed some differences between the two. Maybe it wasn't due to their sexual orientation, but the bi guys I've partnered with tended to be more experimental, and more interested in exploring new ways to enjoy our bodies together.

And what happens when gender lines start to blur? What do we call it when one or more of the people involved claim a gender different than the one they were born to...or what if they don't claim a definite gender at all? How about a man who claims to be straight, but has sex with a person born as a woman that identifies as male? When do the labels of hetero and homosexual sex start to break down?

I'd say anything involving a mixed threesome is bi sex by definition. I disagree with the idea that I would be hetero at one end and gay at the other. If that were the case, what would licking a cock and pussy union be? Hetero while the tongue is on one, then gay milliseconds later as the tongue moves?

Sure, a bisexual person having sex with only one other person is either straight or gay sex. But if there's one of each, I call it bi sex.
