Newbie Editing Question

I'd like to clean some typos and improve grammar a little on some threads that aren't mine on a story I'm sub editor on. It's a great story but these little errors really detract from it.

When I click on the edit thread button, instead of the story post appearing in the text window like it does when I'm editing a thread I've just approved, I get a blank text window. The contiune options also seem to have been reset. If I copy the text of the thread into this then edit it, will the edited thread reappear without the links to where it's supposed to go? I don't want to break the story!

Sub-editors really can't effectively edit stories. It's one of the bugs with the system.

Incidentally, I've really enjoyed some of your writing on Chyoo - any chance of you being interested in some sort of a thread-for-a-thread writing thing?
