Ha ha. I didn't say I watch golf, I said I watched the last round of the Masters Tournament. And I watched it with my brother and father. We "bonded". Well, when they weren't napping, anyway.

Funny, I followed many sports when I was young and lived at home. When I moved for college (and lived without TV to speak of) I lost track of my favorite teams and athletes. Then after college, my husband was SO not into sports, so we never followed any teams and I never got back into sports. I thought I didn't like sports.

Over the past year though, I'm becoming more interested. Why? Because I've moved back near family and am surrounded people I love who are Cowboys, Spurs, Astros, and Rangers fans. Plus there's tennis, and golf and lots of college sports.

I'm discovering that it's not sports that I disliked - it was watching alone or in a vacuum. Heck, I'm discovering that about a lot of things. I've realized that, while I can enjoy many things alone (like sports, music, food, natural splendor, basically anything fun and awe-inspiring), it's so different and a much richer experience to share them with others. I know not everyone is like that, and I always thought I was more of a "stand alone" individual. I'm surprised to learn that I am much more social and communal than I realized. :rolleyes:

Well, to be truthful, it may just be that I can be pretty pessimistic about my own life, you are very right though miss TX , I'm sure that I could find someone that I could be myself and acceptable to. My history is just lined with a lot of bad luck, so sometimes I just kind of don't try. But I really should, but I don't know how to introduce a woman into the military life, might wait until I get out next year.

By the way, you in your Master's Green, absolutely phenomenal, especially taken with you leaning over the putter, I don't think that any part of your beautiful body could impede you in anything :)

Wow - thanks, Deltha. It's funny you say that it's a "thread full of life" . Well, maybe more ironic than funny - and that's because I have a sense that I have been "hiding out" on Lit these past few months.

Haven't thought this one through fully, but I believe there is more than a kernel of truth to that.

I was going to make a joke (a defense mechanism of mine when I'm embarrassed among other things) about how some Lit women inspire frenzied ardor, and I inspire "thought".

But then, I realize how much I value the fact that I do inspire thought for at least a few of you.

I wasn’t ironic when I said earlier this thread is full of life: it is not only alive but we also get to share your moods, thoughts, witty and well written comments, there are discussions and even some philosophy; it is full of life (yours and the other posters) Which for me is awesome. Argh! Apologies OhVerbatum, that was very thoughtless on my part. You probably already figured out that DFW means "the Dallas / Ft Worth area" in Northern Texas. I have several aunts, uncles, cousins and beyond in that area.

I live 20 miles from Dallas that is Dallas in the Scottish Highlands. It seems that some Scots emigrated to Texas and named it in memory of their homeland. Our Dallas is still a village, but I understand that the Texan one may have grown a little. (Dallas means black water valley in gaelic ) Apologies for the History lesson.
 
she enjoys new york during the warmer weather lol but i do fly her back to texas for a month or 2 every year so she can visit her family and friends
