For Discussion: BBW's and Fat Attraction

At 156lb I hated myself. I had such bad body dysmorphia that I was unable to recognise myself in the mirror and was genuinely traumatised by being thin; internal body image refused to meet up with external one. The guys that hit on me thin, I wouldn't have touched with a fifty foot pole. They were all shallow arseholes and like the guys you mentioned seemed to want the control thing. I enjoy sex more at my current weight and the guys who hit on me tend to be (as you said) sounder of mind and much more mature.

yeah, but i like bedroom control freaks, as long as i an manipulate what i want from them. i'm so bloody lazy about sex, and guys who would pick me up & throw me around were just my bag.
you can teach a softy the art of kinky sex, but you'll always know it's not quite real enough.

See, that's not my bag at all and I can't stand men who are control freaks in any arena. I am sexually dominant and extremely busy in bed. The fat does weed out the arseholes for me. Anyone who can't cope with my size is not someone I want to be associated with. It works out well for all.

Anyone who can't cope with your size isn't going to be there in the first place, right?

Yep and for that I am delighted.:D:D Like I said it works out well for all. I don't hate myself enough to want a guy who could never want me the way I am.

Oh, I see. You can get all over me for a grammatical error but I can't point out your poor spelling. The double is strong with this codger.

I did what? Grammatical error? What the hell are you talking about now?

Fat girls say "yes" to more sex at an earlier age than normal girls, according to Psychology Today:

http://www.psychologytoday.com/files/u15/Fat_chicks_1.jpg

In an article published in the September 2008 issue of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Bliss Kaneshiro of the University of Hawaii and colleagues study the effect of women’s body mass on their sexual behavior.

Their sample contains 3,600 women of “normal” body weight (BMI < 25), 1,643 “overweight” women (25 < BMI < 30), and 1,447 “obese” women (BMI > 30) between the ages of 15 and 44.

Their statistical analysis shows that there is no significant difference between normal-weight women, on the one hand, and overweight and obese women, on the other, on their sexual orientation, age at first intercourse, frequency of heterosexual intercourse, and the number of lifetime or current male sexual partners.

It means that, contrary to what one might expect, overweight and obese women are not having sex later, less frequently or with fewer partners than normal-weight women.

Overweight (92.5%) and obese (91.5%) women are significantly more likely ever to have had sexual intercourse with men than normal-weight women (87.4%).

Loads of good quotes!

But why do the rest of us care so much? What is it about fat people that makes us so mad? As it turns out, we kind of like it. "People actually enjoy feeling angry," says Ryan Martin, associate professor of psychology at the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay, who cites studies done on people's emotions. "It makes them feel powerful, it makes them feel greater control, and they appreciate it for that reason." And with fat people designated as acceptable targets of rage—and with the prevalence of fat people in our lives, both in the malls and on the news—it's easy to find a target for some soul-clearing, ego-boosting ranting.

Yes this one explains you perfectly.

If it works for you, run with it!

That is, if you're able.

However, this thread is about the disease and not you trying to pick fights with men you loathe/desire.

Now who's being childish. Why don't you just call me fatty boombah and pull my pigtails?

And what kills you about this, is that I am right.

You perceive it this way but that's all about you.

If you say so.

A couple of observations:

1. Until recently, you were using a Younger/thinner AV and repeatedly referring to your Wonderful Husband;

2. Now you are using your Fat AV and talking about men hitting on you, your diseases and those of your child.

Why the shift?

Only stopped through to say that was an interesting article.

I can`t add anything else to the discussion but I keep coming back because, quite frankly, the thoughts behind the thread interest me.

*goes back to lurking*

There's lots of good stuff in this thread.

The psychological drivers behind obesity in women are important for people to understand, regardless of their girth or gender.

Take for example, impulse control....fat women have less impulse control than normal women, normal men and fat men.

Maybe that's part of why fat girls are so eager to go down....or maybe it's just oral fixation.

Obese Women Have Less Impulse Control

According to a study from The University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Psychology, obese women have much less impulse control than normal-weight women. But there’s no significant difference between obese and normal-weight men.

I believe the discussion and all points of view have merit, even if I don`t particularly buy into certain thought processes.

Some of the stats listed (like larger women having sex more often) I can believe but not for the reasons attributed. Same thing with the articles dealing with underweight/overweight issues. Where they connect, where they diverge.

Since I adore zaftig women, I have to think about what I perceive in them that I do not see in smaller women.

All food for thought.

If you'd like to join this discussion in a meaningful way, please do.

neither your quote, nor the full article said anything about fat girls having sex earlier than 'normal' girls. Quite the opposite. it says:

You misread the findings.

It's a matter of impulse control and disinhibition, not age.

New study finds obese women more impulsive than other females
Published: Monday, November 10, 2008 - 17:22 in Psychology & Sociology

A new study in the November issue of the journal Appetite finds that obese women display significantly weaker impulse control than normal-weight women, but between obese and normal-weight men, the impulsivity levels are nearly the same. The study was conducted by researchers in the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Psychology.

Oh come on Luke...somebody as perfect as you could never make a grammatical error...and to admit it...pulease...did you forget your pills or something?
