For Discussion: BBW's and Fat Attraction

Obesity has become a huge issue for most people living in developed countries.

Today, 30% of children between the ages of 10 and 17 are obese and 60% of all adults are either overweight or obese.

Obesity is responsible for increased rates of stroke, heart attack, type II diabetes, and even some forms of cancer.

In fact it is responsible for as many premature deaths as smoking.

Obesity is a threat to your longevity.

You can justify the "dangers" of living a healthy active lifestyle all you like...but you'll be wrong, every time.

Fat women have always been considered abnormal and unattractive? I suggest you wander round an art gallery sometime. Or go to Africa.

or polynesia. some of those fuckers still think being fat is a sign of good health and prosperity.

I tried to picture Lance in a museum but failed miserably.

Food intake per capita in the USA has doubled over the past 30 years...amazing.

You must be used to that by now...
The advertising is going to be studied by anthropologists if the recordings survive until whenever the empire falls.

"Our portions are so big, you're going to want an equal sized dessert just so when it comes back out, it will taste good a second time. Free bag of donuts to the first 10 vomiters!"

Big women have tighter pussies. Simple physics. All you little dicked mofos should love that.

Personally I grew tired of "Ohhhh shit wait, wait" and claws in my ass. :D

So I turned to skinny, short women with bottomless pits.

Here's some interesting research from freakonomics:

In almost all countries, women are more likely to be obese than men. The economists Anne Case and Alicia Menendez set out to learn why. Here’s what they determined:

1. “Women who were nutritionally deprived as children are significantly more likely to be obese as adults, while men who were deprived as children face no greater risk.”

2. “Women of higher adult socioeconomic status are significantly more likely to be obese, which is not true for men.”

These two factors, Case and Menendez write, fully explain the difference in female/male obesity rates they found in their sample. But there is a third point as well:

3. “Finally, women’s perceptions of an ‘ideal’ female body are larger than men’s perceptions of the ‘ideal’ male body, and individuals with larger ‘ideal’ body images are significantly more likely to be obese.”

Do the Freakonomics guys have anything on the idiot's 'tighter pussies' theory?

Stuff like that is just nonsense.

There are a LOT of fat women on the GB pretending to be "happy and healthy".

But when you read their posts over time you find out that most of them have a buffet of ailments and that typing cybersex gibberish is probably the most exercise they ever get.

But it takes two to tango...what about their enablers, the teenage boys and old men here who are relegated to fawning over fat chicks on the internet in return for cyberpussy?

I'm not happy but I am relatively healthy. I'm active. I run around with kids everyday, too. I would like to be thin for the shopping. I guess that makes me...human.

I guess I could work out 3 hours a day, instead of one, and not ever drink wine again. But that would cut into my Lit posting. I have priorities!

Visit us. We have wine. And groping hands that shop. Shop n grope, grope n shop grope grope n shop. Kinda like that but I forget.

This doesn't seem to be a serious discussion thread, but just to make people feel bad.

There have always been people of different sizes except in times of serous famine when everybody starts to look the same (walking skeletons). In all ages there have been heavier people even when food was not as plentiful. There are thin people today. Genetics and body type are huge factors, not just eating excessively like we are told.

What is a BBW?

Am I thick? Sure am. Tae-bo, pilates and weights 5 times a week but I refuse to diet. Why should I? I can still do full splits, am out in the woods every fall hunting, hiking and camping. Every summer playing softball, swimming, hanging out with the bratlings.

But According to my height (and my doctor and by those stupid lists) I am at least 25 pounds overweight. Fuck 'em. I can't judge if other's are big or small. Long as they are happy who the hell cares?

Where the fat girls are:

Rank Countries Amount
# 1 United States: 30.6%
# 2 Mexico: 24.2%
# 3 United Kingdom: 23%
# 4 Slovakia: 22.4%
# 5 Greece: 21.9%
# 6 Australia: 21.7%
# 7 New Zealand: 20.9%
# 8 Hungary: 18.8%
# 9 Luxembourg: 18.4%
# 10 Czech Republic: 14.8%

Hey now, all those other countries don't have 'Teen Mom 1' and 'Teen Mom 2' going for them when it comes to gals supporting extra weight as like a goal.

*the Slovakians really disappoint me

what is considered attractive or unattractive is generally decided by what is less easily achieved by those of low social status.

where food is in short supply, fat is attractive.
where fatty food is plentiful, skeletal becomes the aim.
when most people worked outdoors, pale skin was desired.
when foreign holidays were the aim, deep tans came in.
when cloth was expensive, billowing layers were the rage.
when cloth was cheap, less was more.
where walking was the norm, uncomfortable shoes or foot binding won.
when physical labour hardened most bodies, softness was sought.
where cars were plentiful and flab formed, toned was the new goal.

i thought everybody knew that.

Dolf is teh clever. :)

I'm fat, always have been by society's standard. I'm not unhealthy, I could be healthier, sure but my cholesterol and blood pressure are at normal levels and I eat generally well.

I have a problem, an addiction and I don't mind admiting it. I use food for comfort, I use food to occupy myself when I'm bored. I have food issues. I'm working on straightening these out but it isn't easy. Food is something we all need to live, I can't quit it cold turkey!

I don't think I'll ever be thin, don't think I want to be either. I'd like to be thinner, sure, so I can walk into shops and actually get clothes to fit me, that'd be novel. Mostly, I want to be healthy. This is why I have done my exercise class once a week for the past year, why I've been working on having a healthier diet.

It's working, I'm less ill, I'm more stretchy, I'm just all round healthier. I'm not a massive amount thinner (around a stone or so) but I am healthier.

So there is the thing. People come in different sizes. A healthy thin or fat person is fine as they are, this really is an issue about health, not size.

Well, that's the input of a writer who's heroine's are ALWAYS classed as BBW.

Dear Lance,
You are not shallow, are you?
It's the inside that matters, not the outside.
I hope that someone, other than the model types, come along and put your world upside down someday. ;)

Being overweight carries only about the same mortality risk as being normal weight. Obesity is a risk and being underweight is a risk (only 5kg underweight is a significant risk). Here is a study: http://www.nature.com/oby/journal/v14/n12/full/oby2006269a.html The risks are exaggerated in the media because it is socially unacceptable to be overweight and the whole thing has become a moral panic but I seriously doubt Lance is bright enough to recognise this; this whole thread is just another opportunity for him to bully the women on the site and it seems like he has decided to go for the more vulnerable group. Kudo Lance, you become a bigger turd each day.

For the others who might actually be interested and not just being a bully like the forementioned, here is a good article:http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2009/07/americas-moral-panic-over-obesity/22397/

Well put Blunty. This whole thread is just lance being a mean spirited bully.
