Teen Titans: Fast Forward (OOC)

Technically yes, but you didn't know about it until I told you, so you didn't even know you had a stalker :D I'm ninja :p

Hopefully we get more girls. Everyone should pass this link on to their friends and see who you guys can recruit :). Also, Matt, I actually think Sean had claimed Kid Flash a ways back, but if he's using Ben, he might be cool with it. I didn't bother saying you were interested in Kid Flash at the time because you hadn't decided who you were gonna be yet :). And to be terribly honest, traveling faster that the speed of light is a bit over-powered, even if it is there in the comic. Not only that, his metabolism would be so high that he'd die very young. Plus there is time dilation, which would slow his own time down when going that fast, meaning every time he speeds up he'd essentially jump into the future. And even if none of that were true, the increased mass of going light speed would crush him like a pancake.

And even if we completely disregarded all those laws of physics and use the idea that the Speed Force energy prevents these things, that's still overpowered, because if he can move faster than the speed of light, that means he can essentially freeze time from his perspective, or if he goes fast enough, he could even rewind time. So, if he hops back and forth between rewinding time and freezing time, he could basically set it up so that the second the Titans encounter their enemies, they all suddenly fall over unconscious. And then, if the Wally who sees the enemies fall down thus doesn't travel back himself, the future Wally would phase out of existence because THAT version of him no longer comes to pass.

It's very tricky to explain, lol. He could also destroy an entire army by vibrating through them all in under a second and causing everyone to explode before the fight even starts. Just seems a bit over-powered to me. Hell, we can just have Wally take us back to the past one at a time, LMAO!

I'm not telling you to change anything, I'm just expressing my concerns. Like, I am definitely not having Superboy be so strong that he can lift a friggin continent or so fast that he can run the speed of light. He has to carefully control how much solar energy he channels, and usually only uses enough to make him several times stronger than a normal person. Otherwise, his punches would shatter skulls, lol. But even if he channels as much energy as his body can possibly hold, he still wouldn't be like godly powerful. Like, if you take the scene from Superman Returns and have Superboy try and stop the plane, he wouldn't be able to hold the weight of the plane even when at full power. He'd have to use the joint power of his strength and the force of flying to slow the plane down enough to land without crashing.

As for speed, I think the max I would want Superboy to run is maybe like 300 mph, several times faster if flying.

(picture a light black cape as well)

Real Name: Richard "Dick" Grayson
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Birthday: March 21st
Hometown: Gotham City, Delaware, USA
Occupation: Owner of the Malibu, Leader of the Titans
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Nationality: American

Abilities:

Dick Grayson possesses the peak athletic strength and endurance of an adult male who regularly engages in intensive physical exercise. His detective and martial arts skills rival those of Bruce Wayne. He is a master of dozens of martial arts disciplines and was rigorously trained by his mentor in everything from escapology to criminology, fencing, stealth, disguise, and numerous other combat/non-combat disciplines. Dick Grayson is 5'10" (1.78 m) and 175 lbs (79 kg).

Dick is one of the world's leading martial artists due to a rigorous training regimen with Batman. He has mastered Eskrima/Kali, Aikido, Savate, Muay Thai, Boxing, Capoeira, Kendo, Tae Kwon Do, Jeet Kune Do, Bojutsu, Hapkido, Ninjutsu, Tai Chi, Jujutsu, Judo, Kenpo, Wing Chun, Krav Maga, Kobudo, and more. His preferred form of hand-to-hand combat primarily emphasizes Escrima, Bojutsu, Wing Chun, Boxing, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, and Jujitsu.

Grayson is a prodigious natural athlete, possessing a peak human level of agility/acrobatic skills. He is generally regarded as the greatest human acrobat among non-metahumans. Having had the finest education as Bruce Wayne's ward, he speaks with fluency in English, French, Spanish, Russian, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Japanese and has some knowledge of Romany, the alien language of Tamaran, and American Sign Language. He is also a brilliant and experienced strategist with superlative leadership skills, having served as leader to the the Outsiders, and now the Titans. Additionally, Dick's interpersonal skills and efforts to remain in contact with other heroes makes him a master at rallying, unifying, and inspiring the superhero community, a skill in which he has surpassed his mentor.

Aside of having access to the Wayne family fortune and resources as Bruce Wayne's adopted son, Dick also inherited a trust fund left by his parents, which Wayne had Lucius Fox to look after and placed it under an interest after he took him in. After nearly a decade of dormancy, the trust fund grew to a significant sum, leaving him independently wealthy. However, Dick only uses his wealth for crime fighting equipment and emergency purposes, maintains employment and lives fairly modestly.

He does, however, have a separate bank account under the alias "Chester Honeywell," which he uses to fund Titans Tower and its operations. This account has money from his own personal funds and those of the Wayne family fortune, contributions by various members, grants given by various public servants, and several other means. This account is very large, and in addition to paying for the day to day operations of the Tower and keeping all equipment up to date, it funds the needs of the members.

Because the account is a joint venture, everyone is taken care of by it, even those who have no money to contribute. If you are a member of the Titans, you are given your own room at the Tower and free access to the kitchen. Those who can assist give what money they can to the team account, but it is not a requirement. Another source of income is the Malibu, the hottest night club in New York. Dick purchased this a few years ago, under the name Robbie Malone, and installed many cameras and microphones. Knowing many criminals and villains frequented the club, he would pour over the material each night, looking for clues to any ongoing cases, or info on new crimes that were being planned.

If he needed to follow leads gained from the material, he would go in disguise as Robbie Malone, an Italian mafia-like persona he created and owned the club under. When he was Malone, he talked with a Brooklyn accent and the attitude to match. He wore spiffy suits and latex facial features to hide his true face, and gave the impression he was a mob boss to gain criminals' trust. If need be, he would also use his Freddy Loyd persona, a private detective.

Dick's Nightwing costume is made of a version of the Nomex fire-resistant, triple-weave Kevlar-lined material. It has an excellent protection against damage, and is also insulated against electricity. His motorcycle has an advanced computer system connecting it to the base network at the Tower and to his helmet, which also includes night vision lenses. His helmet is wirelessly connected to his Communicator, a PSP-like device that creates a video-chat link between the Titans. Inside the helmet is a holographic HUD that displays whatever the screen of the Communicator is showing. He can also view web content in this manner and use GPS to see where the other team members are. (basically, imagine it looking like the HUD inside Iron Man's helmet in the movies)

His utility belt has a variety of gadgets, including an extendable bo, small grappling hook, discs with various abilities (light explosives, tracers, recorders, etc.) and many others. His gloves also have light shockers in the fingertips, no more powerful than a standard taser. To activate them, he pushes a tiny button on the sleeve of each glove, and then he can use the charges to stun enemies or realign the molecules in his cape to make it a glider. When he is done, he just pressed the buttons again. He cannot shock himself when touching his arms because the suit is insulated against electricity. However, if he happened to touch his head or face while the gloves are active, he would stun himself.

Personality:

While he can sometimes seem cold and distant, Dick genuinely cares for his friends and teammates. It is for that very reason that he appears reserved -- he does not want his love for those close to him to compromise his decisions as a leader and a crime fighter. Open emotional attachment can only lead to problems when fighting crime, or so he believes. He deeply adores Starfire, maybe even loves her, but he refuses to admit these feelings to himself or anyone else. He is kind-hearted, loyal, and honest, but rarely laughs or has what others would call fun. If he is not training, studying, or fighting crime, he can be found in his workshop upgrading his equipment or designing new gear.

Background:

When Dick was only a small boy, his parents, John and Mary Grayson, were killed by notorious gangster Tony Zucco. They had been world famous martial artists, and competed in many tournaments. Their death was a result of John refusing to work for Zucco -- the gangster sponsored several fighters in the Gotham Extreme Championship, which was a very popular MMA tournament, and he wanted to recuit John Grayson to be his new main fighter. John had done extreme fighting in the past, but left that behind and refused to go back. He was more interesting is displaying his abilities to judges instead of against another person.

Sadly, Zucco wouldn't take "no" for an answer, and followed them home one night. Young Dick witnessed his parents gunned down, but he managed to escape the gangster by hoping out the window, climbing up on his roof, and hopping into the trees. Using the skills his parents had taught him so far, he was able to swing through the branches to the next block over, then ran until he found a police car.

Upon searching the house and surrounding area, no sign of the killer remained. Dick had no family left, but Bruce Wayne, who had been good friends with John and Mary since highschool, took the boy in as his adopted son. As Batman, he hunted for clues and finally traced the murders back to Tony Zucco, but unfortunately, when the gangster knew the Dark Knight was getting close to him, he took off for Sicily. Batman gave chase, but could not locate him anywhere. He was forced to give up for the time being.

Meanwhile, to help Dick deal with his grief and anger, he began training him in a variety of disciplines, and when the boy was ten years old, Bruce revealed himself as Batman. He told Dick he could be a great asset to the superhero community when he got older, and could stop people like Zucco from commiting such horrible crimes. Dick found solace in this, and created the Robin persona, but Bruce forbid him to fight crime until he was older -- the Robin suit was just for training.

Well, Dick was not one to sit by when he could be doing good, so he started sneaking out as Robin anyway, and was eventually caught my Bruce. He reluctantly allowed Dick to continue as Robin, so long as he didn't go out alone. They became Batman and Robin, the Dynamic Duo, and worked together for several years.

When Dick was fourteen, he met Batgirl (Barbara Gordon), a local teenage hero who kept showing up to assist him and Batman. She was eventually allowed to join their team, and Dick and Barbara began a relationship. They were together for about two years, but shortly after Dick turned sixteen, they had grown apart.

Dick had gained his diploma early through home study, and was anxious to move out and be his own person. He handed over the Robin persona to Jason Todd, and moved to New York City, attending Columbia University in the Fall. A few months after arriving, Dick created the Nightwing persona, and returned to fighting crime. He gathered a group of heroes to take down local mobster Frankie Mott, and afterwards, they became known as the Outsiders.

During the few months he led the Outsiders, he developed a relationship with fellow member Katana. However, he soon discovered these heroes were rather brutal, and ultimately left the team. For several months he remained solo, then gathered a new team, this time making sure they were not like the Outsiders. The Titans were formed, and remained together for two years prior to the current arc.

They constructed Titans Tower on a small island off the shore of New York City, and built an underwater tunnel leading to several abandoned subways and various secret entrances around the city. This helps prevent onlookers from getting too close. Plus, the windows are tinted from the outside, so heroes can feel safe without their costumes when at home.

Superboy
http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o178/TheJeffinator/Sboy02.jpg

Real Name: Conner Kent, Kal-El
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Birthday: February 24thth
Hometown: Miami, Florida, USA
Occupation: Member of the Titans
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Nationality: American

Abilities:

Conner has abilities from both his mother and father -- powers similar to Superman, and from his mother, telekinesis. The Kryptonian half of him can asborb solar energy, though no where near as fast as his father. He has flight, superstrength, superspeed, enhanced senses, super breath and various forms of vision, but they are toned down compared to his father. His telekinesis allows him to move objects from afar, and he can create telekinetic force fields around himself and extend it to protect others. Though, he has to be careful when doing this, as putting up the barrier greatly reduces how much solar energy he can abosrb.

Personality:

Though kind and warm hearted, Conner is extremely arrogant and reckless. Courageous, honest, and loyal, but cocky, impulsive, and somewhat immature. He immensely enjoys crime fighting, maybe a bit too much. He never passes up an opportunity to flirt with a cute girl, even if in the middle of a battle. He sometimes causes mass destruction during a fight, but always returns to help clean up the mess. He constantly clashes with Nightwing, who considers him a little kid with too much power, whereas Conner thinks "Nightwad" is too serious and has a stick up his butt.

Background:

Conner is the son of Clark Kent and a random metahuman he slept with years ago. The girl had psionic powers, and tried desperately to find the nice young man who had gotten her pregnant, but to no avail. She died in childbirth, and the boy was placed in a foster home in Miami, where he was named Conner McDouglas. Conner became a little flirt in school, but also a smart-ass. As a result of his personality issues, he was moved around to a lot of different foster homes.

When he was about twelve, he began to notice he was different. He focused on learning to control his new powers, and created a superhero identity called Kid Mystic, but ended up on the wrong side of the law one too many times. He found himself in the hands of the Justice League, who pulled off his mask and realized he looked a lot like Superman.

Conner ended up living with his real father, changing his last name to Kent. The JLA had confirmed he was the son of Superman via DNA testing, and Clark was more than happy to meet his long lost son. He helped the boy work through his anger, but was upset when he started going out as Superboy.

When Conner was sixteen, he grew tired of his over-bearing father, and began flying back and forth to New York everynight. He ended up joining the Titans, and has been with them ever since.

By all means he can have Kid Flash. I'm currently waiting to see if we reach the minimum male to female ratio required for me to start up since I know despite the idea that this should be an actual RP with sex as an after thought without enough interlocking bodies we'll all get bored halfway through the first act and I'll be crying over my techno-wizard that I got to play all of seven posts. Or my scatterbrained pirate who spent as much time wondering about cloud forms as he did sword fighting.

And sure super speed is broken but rarely even in the comics is it presented as such. Infact most speedsters seem to top out at just barely inside human perception (enough that you can attempt to fight them) and can only turn it up to eleven against opponents capable of keeping pace.

Also that picture of Super boy is tres ghey. I now fully support Superboy (on Young Justice) decision that he wasn't wearing tights. t-shirt with the S Logo that I'm sure kids pick up at Walmart and blue jeans.

Very good points, Jeff. I will admit that I mainly quoted wiki, and to be honest, have since decided against using Kid Flash anyway, he seems to... overused. I do also admit I merely chucked him in so I'd have someone there., so for now... lets forget I even posted him.

Plus I prefer this one...

*Deletes*

And so I bring along;

Name: Paran Hol (Formerly Paran Raatko)
Species: Thanagarian
A.k.a.: Hawkboy
Age: 19
Powers: All of Hawkboy's powers are a result of Nth Metal. This metal is in his costume's belt, boots, and wings. Its abilities are controlled mentally. His wings allow them to control their flight, though they can be "flapped" through use of shoulder motions.

As it was too dangerous to use Thanagarian weaponry since there is too great a chance that it could be lost or captured and then used or duplicated on Earth, Hawkboy has taken up the use of a bo staff as his primary weapon.

Due to Thanagar having greater gravity than Earth, this means that Thanagarians are naturally stronger than humans because they are adapted to it, similarly to how Aquaman is adapted to deep sea pressures.

It has also been explained in the JSA series that the Nth metal greatly aids in healing, closing wounds

The Nth metal also regulates the body temperature of the wearer, preventing the need for heavy protective clothing while in high altitudes. It also has the property of radiating heat, which can be controlled to warm the wearer in colder climates.

History: Paran's first memory was working for the League of Assassins. He knows not how they came of him, but they said they found him aged 5 wandering the desert on his own and took him in.

They trained him well... too well.

He eventually was hired to take out Hawkman, and when attempting to do so, discovered that he was almost looking in a mirror. This pause gave Kator the chance to knock him out, and several tests later by Mr Terrific and Dr Mid-nite, it was discovered that Paran was actually a clone of Kator.

Paran and Kator, having found each other, then approached Ra's. Ra's revealed that the story was true about finding Paran, and as no other informantion was forthcoming, they attacked and nearly destroyed the leagues home.

Paran then became Kator's sidekick before officially joining the Titans.

Imagine him looking a tad younger, and with a bo staff

So we have two ladies present. Did I even post a pic for Lil Bo? And why do I feel that with that very cheery disposition I should add a bit of bloodlust? Make a bit more like LOBO?

Nah that's just the evil in me talking :p

My internet went out just to let everyone know

its back don't know for how long

Awesome char, Matt. I would like to add a suggestion, though -- maybe he has weighted training clothes or uses a gravity chamber at the tower or something? Regardless of how powerful he is in Earth's low gravity, once he begins to adapt, he'd lose that edge. If he spent more than a few weeks in our gravity, he'd become just like us. I recall a quote from Avatar: "Gotta keep pushing yourself. This low gravity will make you soft." or something like that.

I'm suddenly forced to ask why we're bothering with time travel as the base. Sure we could port in a few heros but there's always Shining Knight and Jonah Hex floating about mucking up the time stream. Aside from Batman it doesn't really seem like the loss of the Titans effected anything. Even we'd been there it's likely that time would have gone the same way.

Generally speaking the way these things work is that we're important. It doesn't always make any sense. Take Xiaolin Showdown for example. Somehow without Omi to defeat Jack Spice at some point he developes super competence and defeats the remaining three monks. Okay, that's almost plausible if he returned to his season one competence level. However he ALSO took out Wuya, Chase Young and Hannibal Roy Bean. . .maybe Omi and Jack share the amount of awesome in the universe and with Omi gone Jack was suddenly filled with awesome.

With a sitrep, and maybe a link to some resources to read up on this theme, I can help fill a female spot for you guys!

hi ya dormantevil

after the defeat of the brother hood of evil, the titans go after Dr light, he tries to send the titans back into time but instead they get sent into the future.

Lex is president of the united American nations (?) after WWIII parts of the united states is in barren waste land. the rest is utopia like have to pay to live there.

Starfire is taken already as is Raven and Jynx (?)

you can come up with your own character if you want which could traveled with the other titans or they could be part of the future.

these site shows some good info for titans characters and others its up to you how to do it

Pretty sure Argent hasn't been taken and if she wasn't in the group sent forward she's probably dead. Pretty much anybody who wasn't sent forward is likely to be dead since the main story takes place 70 years from now. It would make even the youngest years 80+ so unless they have immortality of some sort they are mostly likely dead of old age if nothing else.

It's kinda causing me trouble getting my profile together cus honestly if Lex took over, but created a utopia in msot of the world I''d surrender and join his half unless there was a SERIOUS draw back. Like he was sending people to serve in mines on Apocalypse or something.

Well, as far as them being important, it's the time traveling that does it. Because they eventually go back with the knowledge of the future, they can change it. And I chose a future setting because I really wanted the feel of a broken and wild New York City for them to explore and fight mutated monsters. I suppose we could also do a distant planet that has giant wastelands with isolated, walled megacities or something.

Has Argent been taken yet? And would she have been in the group sent forward?

Up to you. She could have been with the original Titans, or she could be a citizen of the future. This is an AU from the comics and cartoon, so it's pretty open.

Not most of the world, but in highly populated areas. And that utopia comes at a price -- insane taxes. Insane taxes and laws favoring large companies. That makes greedy men rich and just men poor. It also creates a lot of criminals, the lower class people who can't afford to live in Luther's utopia and get stuck in ghettos and trashed suburbs. It's a lot like FFVIII -- People who support the greedy leader live in upper Midgar, and people who hate him usually live in the slums.

Maybe Ben's family used to live in a big city, but when they couldn't afford their taxes, the government seized their bank account. Forced out of their home and into the criminal-infested outskirts, they headed for the Dead Zone. Yes, there are monsters and bandits there too, but they are more spread out. In the ghettos, criminals are everywhere. Lex and his government don't care about the ghettos, and station all the police in nicer neighborhoods, meaning very minimal crime there.

That could be Ben's motivation. He hates Lex for destroying his family's fortune. Or, like I said, if people are opposed to time travel, Ben could always be part of a human group trapped on an alien world. Then the Titans crash there too on the way back from Star's cousin's wedding on Tamaran or something.

I know very little about the DC/Teen Titans universe, so forgive some rather noobish questions.

Would Argents half alien-ness possibly allow for a longer lifespan? Has this been covered in any of the universes before? Just so I don't completely change something already set.

I was thinking, if she aged slower...because of this alien bloodline, it could allow her to be a slightly older Argent of the future. Perhaps someone who could find them along the way? Around her late 20's (looks wise) might work in well. Or she could have an odd backstory that not long after they were sent into the future, she was abducted again. And the space travel meant when she returned her aging wasn't equal to that of the world.

And perhaps due to what happened, they returned her with very little memory of the old world. Meaning I won't have to act like I know all that happened in the past.

No idea if that screws this up or not. Just thinking out loud.

It's up to you. She could be long-lived, have been trapped in cryogenic stasis for decades, space-travel, whatever. Or she could have come along later. Like, she could have been born only twenty something years ago, being a product of the future. Or, she could like be the granddaughter of the original Argent, who was not with the Titans when they went to fight Dr. Light.

Just some ideas. Up to you.

Then maybe Argent's grandmother works with Terry McGinnis or something. If she was longer lived, otherwise I guess it would be her great-grandmother.

How far into the future were we again?

Because I might go with that 'cryogenic stasis' idea, so I'm guessing we can change the characters a bit. Come up with our own 'whats happened since the team was sent forward in time' story? Make them our own a bit more.
