I just recieved this email from http://Change.org

Dear Stella,

Amazing! After more than 150,000 petition signatures from Change.org members and saturation media coverage, news outlets worldwide are reporting that Apple has pulled an iPhone application launched by Exodus International that claimed to help "cure" gay and lesbian people.

This is a huge, public victory against the dangerous myth that gay young people can and should be "turned straight" -- a falsehood that contributes to the plague of depression and suicide afflicting these kids and young adults. Our friends at Truth Wins Out, the organization that started the petition on Change.org, are absolutely thrilled.

Apple did the right thing because an incredible 151,125 Change.org members -- including you -- stood together to demand it. We spread the word on Facebook more than 55,000 times. And together we attracted the attention of media around the globe, including CNN, MSNBC, Fox, ABC, CBS, and hundreds of newspapers and blogs.

It's simply amazing. Thank you for making this victory possible.

- Eden and the Change.org team

Signing the petition took me at least fifteen seconds. :D I ask you, my friends, to visit the site and think about signing up for their newsletters. We can't make much difference alone, but united-- we can stand.

Stupid app, stupid organisation behind it. Glad it got pulled.
I ranted about this on another board already, I think it's really stupid of those people to think they can 'cure' or 'turn' gays, when it's not a disease nor a choice, but simply a part of who you are. They didn't consciously choose to be straight, did they?

I love asking hets that question. The look on their faces as they try to parse it...

Anyway my point is that the app got pulled because people petitioned against it. One hundred fifty thousand potential consumers all made their voices heard, to be a little more precise. It's democracy by wallet these days.

I'm straight myself, but I firmly believe in equal rights and will fight for it if necessary. Homosexuality is among the stupidest reasons to discriminate (well, they all are).

Hit them where it hurts, in the wallet indeed.

Imagine the shit-storm that would get stirred up if someone announced that they had come up with a cure for religious fanatacism...
That sounds fun, in an evil sort of way.

It already exists, it's called 'common sense'.

But, if common sense were real, more people would have it.

Maybe the petition has done it's job-- maybe not;

If you haven't signed it, my cock-loving friends, please think about doing so, because exodus says you can't go to heaven either. And we know they are wrong!

I'm not into cocks, but there is no such thing as an ex-gay and I support equal right for everyone, so I signed; people who think like that are morons and don't deserve the right to create and publish such a stupid app (even though I don't have an iPhone or anything else from Mac except a simple iPod).
