Anyone recognise this story?..

Okay, I've spent a while looking for this myself and haven't had any luck so far.
I initially came across this story a while ago and haven't read it since. I can't remember which category it was in or the name of the series(it was definitely more than three or four chapters long though).

The main female character is sent undercover/on a mission to bring in some "bad guy". There's a scene early on in the middle of a humid forest where the female in her undercover role is hiding out with the male lead and his team - some form of meet up to do with buying/selling of guns if my memory serves me right.
Much later on, towards the end in fact, the story is set in Florida where the main female and the "bad guy" are staying in a hotel then later get caught in the explosion of a house. The guy is arrested but the female is presumed dead until being discovered later on.

I have a sneaky feeling that the female lead has an odd nickname throughout the story but I could be wrong.
Hope someone can shed some light on which story this is and who it's by!

I'm pretty sure it was Florida because the bad guy had a house there or something.. And when the pair of them arrived in florida at the airport there was the big bust up where the baddie was almost injured I think and she was taken hostage.

It's right here, and it's quite good. You can search within specific categories (you can pick one or more categories in the Advanced Search), and unlike Google, searches will span across pages within the same story, so if Florida is on one page and airport is on another, it will still find the story. Otherwise, it's very Google-like in the ability to search phrases and the use of AND, OR, and NOT operators.

I think it was one of Mugsby's stories, the one with Cricket going undercover. Don't think she has it posted up any more though. Can't remember the title of the tale off hand but I'm pretty sure Mugsby was the author.

Yep, that was MugsyB's Duty and Deception, which I believe has been pulled for revision and later release as an e-book.

Duty and Deception by MugsyB is ringing a few bells there. Bit disappointed that the story has been pulled but fingers crossed it re-appears in some way!
