Can't say I'm Pagan. Don't even know if the word should be capitalized. Not even sure just what a pagan really is. Just thought that equal rights ought to apply. Muslim porn writers are of course, free to have their own thread. Just wondering what might come from this extension of Christian porn.

Any Jewish porn authors out there? Taoist? Scientology porn has untold potential. Any Hubbard fans out there that have put pen to paper?

Randroid porn? Please....

Howdy, Pagan here (more correctly Neopagan and yes it is capitalised). Thank you for the thought. The Christians I have actually met in Author's aren't to bad and live and let live. Sex is considered an act of worship for us, so porn might be considered a religious text. However I cannot speak for every Neopagan. There are as many takes on our belief system as there are people who subscribe to it. Someone following Asatru would not probably agree with a Dianic Wiccan and more than a Muslim and a Jew would.

And here I was thinking that pagans go way, way back. Neopagans, as in new pagans...what happened to there is nothing new under the sun?

A new Bible...I wonder what the Vatican will say.

Sex as an act of worship...I'm in.

Nuns...where are the nuns?

No, god damnit! The young and pretty ones!!

Great idea Stephen! As you can tell from some of my previous posts I am a follower of Anton Levay. I do not really follow from the "magic" aspect but do follow the philosophies set forth in the Satanic Statements, Principles and Rules of the earth. Satanism of course has a bad stigma created by Hollywood and horror writers but if you have never read Levay's "rules" or his bible they really are more of a basic way to live your life than a religion. I especially adhere to the psychic vampire theory. I also agree with the above poster the people in the christian section here all seem prett y cool.

A long time ago I bought his book, 'The Satanic Witch'... I'm pretty sure I never finished it.
I had collected quite a few 'dark' books. I was reading them mainly for informational purposes..
My friends and I played with the Ouija board probably more than we needed too..
And things started happening. I wasn't able to sleep until the sun came up. (Thankfully I worked second shift.)
When lightbulbs blow and something grabs your face, I'm pretty sure it's time to stop fooling around with what you don't know. :)
My mom took all the 'scary books' and cleansed the house.
(Honestly, I'm pretty sure something followed me home from playing with the Ouija board. But that's neither here nor there. :))

I'm a fan of 'live and let live'.. and honestly, I think other religions/faiths/beliefs are interesting. :) I like hearing about other stuff.
Yay for a new thread! :)

I don't roll the Satanic direction but each to his own. I am more an animist.

Modern pagans call themselves Neopagans to distinguish themselves from those who practice tribal religions that have long lineage of practice. It is a mark of respect to others who follow the same path but within their native culture. Mesopagans is the term we would use for say a Hopi indian practice in the traditional fashion and Paleopagan for say a druid in the 8th century.

Honestly Levay doesn't really speak of Satan in the biblical sense of Lucifer the fallen angel but more as "The Black Flame" a power source within all of us that some tap and some do not. I believe as Levay does that there is no heaven or hell the life we have is the only one we have so I live it to the fullest and without regret. He speaks of Indulgence over abstinence because to us there is no "final reward" for not being a sinner so to speak. Now a large misconception with satanists is we are out of control, that is not true, indulgence to the point of counter productiveness is a sin. For example I enjoy drinking, I may drink more than some people think is healthy but I enjoy myself and don;t bother anyone, i go to work everyday, and am a good father and husband if I drank to the point where I was not functioning and there were issues within my houshold then that would be a sin even in Levay's eyes as bizarre as it sounds think "Disciplined Anarchist"

What vrose said. It also helps avoid ridiculous arguments with less kindly Christians who want to tell the "Pagans" that they're not actually practicing the religion that Pagans in the past practiced--which is true (but is the pot calling the kettle black as modern Christians aren't practicing the same religion practiced by early Christians either!). As the vast majority of Pagan rituals were not written down, all modern Pagans know rituals either honestly passed down through the ages, or written down by those who say they participated in/saw an ancient rite or who created new rituals for their Pagan faith.

Neopagans usually can point to exactly where and who started their religion and that person is usually no farther back than about the 19th century if that.

Also, a good many of the pagans who practice rituals that might, indeed, go back centuries, are very tribal and don't let just anyone join up. So most folk who go Pagan pretty much have to go Neopagan as the ones practicing very ancient rituals are pretty private about it. Pagan religions are very often about individuals doing what works for them, or small groups doing what works for them.

Sex as an act of worship...I'm in.
Very old religious practice that! Egyptian priestesses had to engage in a sexual ritual each morning with the Pharaoh, a "recreation" of how they saw the world being created (i.e. via a sexual act between great father/great mother gods).

Nuns...where are the nuns?
There were virgins who gave themselves over to Virgin goddesses, foregoing sex. Most notably the Vestal Virgins. You're out of luck with them as, like nuns, their sexual feelings are only for the divine ;)

What you're really wanting are the sacred prostitutes. They were a very important part of ancient pagan religions

Did you mean "sacred" or were they really scared? You know on the subject of nuns. The Catholic religion would have less sex scandals if they wouldlet these people get laid.

Sacred prostitutes...an important part of ancient Pagan religions...

No wonder the Christians of old tried so hard to put Paganism out of business.

Give me that old-time religion,
Give me that old-time religion,
Give me that old-time religion,
It's good enough for me!

Ben Franklin spent his young adult years in England. He was a member of the "Hellfire" society which practiced pagan rituals, played cards, gambled, and smuggled prostitutes dressed as nuns up the Themes on barges from London. Their slogan was Fais ce que tu voudras (Do what thou wilt). I have been in their High Wycombe secret chambers, and I have stood within the hulk of Medmenham Abbey where black masses were held. (I feel a story brewing) I think they may have invented the sex sling. They definitely loved orgies.

Sounds like the Crowley quote in my Signature. Sad thing is what you described as the Hellfire club had to be secret back then. Today it sounds like your average Lady Gaga video

GIven who they had to have sex with (anyone who paid the temple for their services), I'm sure they were as scared as they were sacred ;) But "sacred" is what I meant.

Mesopagan checking in. (that's a really odd way of putting it). I normally used traditional.

I know a lot about Satanism and it wasn't a criticism, I just don't roll that way.

The sex thing comes from the idea that all acts of pleasure are considered worship. Thing about the next time you get into you favourite food or booze.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia;

Meso may refer to:

* meso-, a prefix meaning middle or intermediate
* Meso compound, a stereochemical classification in chemistry
* Meso, the currency in the 2d online game MapleStory
* Mesopotamia, the first major river civilization, known today as Iraq.
* Meso, Serbian for "meat"

I guess that makes you a middle level, stereochemical Serbian meat-pagan, living in Iraq and spending fictional money.

And you call yourself traditional???

It sounds a bit odd to me....:D

Hail, all.

Male Asatruar here, I follow the path of my ancestors, the Gods and Goddesses of Northern Europe

:) nice thread

You have to quit making me laugh like that. It wastes tea and scares the puppy. :D

And I thought they were vices, lol. MY KIND OF RELIGION!

The only downside is that this is a religion that demands personal responsibility. There is no devil to palm off your bad behaviour on and all actions are believed to have consequences.

the three fold rule can be a bitch if you let it. in the old days the altar of the circle was actually a woman or a woman laying on an altar, and as part of the ceremony the high priest had sex with said woman, i don't know if this is from all the paths or just one, but it sounds like it could have been a lot of fun!
