I've taken on a new challenge for one of my publishers who is looking for Bollywood stories. I have a vague idea of what I want to do...ish but I'd love to run it past some lovely Indian folks so I know I don't accidentally offend folk and so I can keep things as authentic as a very white gal from Manchester can. *L*

So if there's anyone willing to help me, drop a message here or PM me. I'll be totally appreciative and you will get your name in the 'dedicated to' bit of my eBook when it's finished.

Thanks! :rose:

"Bollywood stories" covers a multitude of possibilities. I'd start with asking the publisher for clarification, or at least a referal to some of the competition.

Some reasearch sites for you:

http://www.bollywoodworld.com/
http://www.bollywood.com/

and, of course, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bollywood

My only real experience with Bollywood is one movie with my Thai rent-a-wife when I was stationed at Ubon RTAB. It was the longest movie I've ever been to; it covered four generations of main characters in about four-and-a-half hours.

Whether the prudery of Indian Film standarads and practices carry over to "Bollywood stories" or not, you'll have to research thoroughly. I'm sure almost any of us could write something exposing what really goes on behind the scenes, but it sounds like you're going into a genre that has strict conventions and cliches that might make the Puritans look like hedonists.

Ah, weird, I do so love it when you answer questions!

I have got clarification in that it is a new line and it's meant to cover a HUGE number of different possibilities. I've got a very specific idea in mind and I want to run it past someone in the know before I embark on it.

Hubs is getting us some Bollywood to watch for research purposes. Thanks for the links!
