ahhhhh! ever since I screwed up with the mushrooms...........It was a good month, wasn't it. I know I enjoyed myself to the point of grinning like a lunatic after reading some of them.
I also got to read some poets that were new to me and added a couple of them to my favorites list.
Maybe March will be good too. I have a couple of garden poems just for you, 1201!

Groyne
byKaishaku
The groyne spoke
of a grey descent
into silent lapping –
ripples on possible glass.
Long before the whisper
the breeze eased
into motion, a cadence
of waves began the sound.
The uniform posts
stood firm attention
listened for orders
the groyne spoke.
so are you my darlingi read that - fabulous. so elegant.
and yeah, a great month. now it'd be a shame to let this month slip backi'll do what i can today inbetween other stuff that demands attention. sigh.
so are you my darling
do you recognise your av?
I am the stuff that demands your attention
you are in my power
because cyan is a magical colour
and I captured your queen
yes! just think how weird is it seeing posts you don't recall making but readingchips boobs on 1201's AV causing untold confusion on a day that gives confusion a bad name >>>>>> goes to smash things
i don't know if i'll bother. i do like them but ... greasy, lemony, hot, finger-lickin', greasy, buttery, sugary... did i mention greasy? On a lighter note it's pancake day tomorrow so stops hi-jacking thread![]()

Just a Matter of Time

Something out there watches me
from the mirrors
and the walls behind
has found its way inside my mind,
Voices bait me,
make me wary,
solitary.
The evil squatter never sleeps,
needs my vigilance night and day.
I play its game, let it think
I've found a chink through
which to watch it
hatch the strategy.
Now I'm smart,
I sleep on gritty streets,
new doorways every night.
I walk, eyes down. Hat
pulled low helps to hide
from eyes desiring
my soul.
The enemy
in child-disguise
peeps beneath the brim,
fingers on my soul.
My hands reach out towards blond curls
to save my soul, keep it close, then
legs flee from her mother's screams,
my soul intact.
A knife in my boot,
razor-like,
will cut off my ears,
silence the voices
when they gets too close
to my soul.
It's
just a
matter
of
time.
I don't know if it was the best ever, certainly one of the best last month.
I try for more carnival carnality than just pancakes!
Just thought you must be referring to Mardi Gras we don't do that here we're more into traditional pancake races
Right. Never been too much involved myself, certainly not in new Orleans or Rio for the event. Best I've ever done is Galveston once and Kemah.
Kemah's a bit different and fun - folks on boats throw beads to people on the boardwalk. Kemah is a more family-oriented celebration and less of a debauch. I'm sure they're back in business and rebuilt after Ike.
Aussie has the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
We do have carnivals here and my town hosts the biggest one day carnival in Europe
Sounds like a good affair to visit and likely to be nice weather.
We had (perhaps they still do) a weekly carnival in the town I grew up in. About a week, around the 4th of July. Mostly rides, also food like cotton candy; some games of skill to win stuffed animals and the like.
