i feel like a new woman!
full restyle for my hair - gotta love the head massage :) i now have a structured chin-length bob in a warm brown with highlights.
full makeup - new techniques for my 40's. who knew i didn't need eyeshadow! and my skin colour has changed a little so my lip colours have been softened.
full stylist consult - i now get to buy a whole wardrobe! yippee! more structured - jackets, tailored shirts and semi-tailored trousers. my colours have changed too, now more camel, silver and teal, less red and black.

i think i'll do this every 5 yrs from now on.... after all, as i get older, i will need to modify my look.

Sounds good. I am growing back my hair after having been shaving it for two years which is a head spin (I'd forgotten how itchy shampoo makes me!). I'd love to do the make over thing if finances permitted. My colours don't seem to have changed but neither did my mother's or my gran. Eyeshadow and I no longer get along. I do love my eyeliner and I think I'll die a red lipstick girl.

Sounds cool. do we get to see pics?;)

i'd love to do pics, but the av is as far as my guy wants me to go - he doesn't like me putting myself online - and i have to respect that.
only reason he's letting the av go, is it's one i've used before (before he came on the scene).

my kidlets and my neighbours are telling me this makeover has taken years off me!
i'm happy :)
my guy won't see this for another 2 weeks, he's away working.

that's cool. I was curious to see your new duds;)

Clothes that are fitted and suited to your bodytype and that are the right colors...really make a difference. Not to mention feeling good about how you look.

Wow! So he's in for a good surprise:D

i have never been able to carry red lipstick :(

if shampoo makes you itch, try A'lchemy from the health food store. it has none of the 84 listed chemicals that mainstream co's use in their products. bonus is you only use a tiny amount so it lasts forever.
and their conditioner is to die for!

this didn't cost me an enormous amount... in total i spent just under $250.
(mind you, i haven't done all my shopping yet - only bought one outfit. and the stylist is a lady that specialises in teaching bargain shopping and pre-loved gems :D)

i have a list done of what to look for and where to find them.
i love that she's done it so i can go bargain hunting in the retro and pre-loved stores (my kind of shopping!)
i feel comfortable dressed like this - she's definitely picked my personality!
comfort above all :cattail:

he's going to get a shock when i pick him up from the airport... for starters, he's never seen me in a shirt (the kind with collar, cuffs and buttons) as i've always leant more toward unstructured tops or hippy-child hemp.
and i've been a jeans and boots chick, not trousers and heels!

Thanks for that. It shouldn't be hard to find around here.

I think red lipstick is as much a personality thing as a colouring thing. My mum is the same colouring as me and can't pull it off but she is much timider than I am. I am out there.

I love vintage. It's the only reason I wish I wasn't as large. You would love this shop in Coffs. This woman does incredible vintage knock offs using vintage fabric and patterns. They are amazing. If I were a size 12, I'd live there!

You were already so beautiful, I don't know if I could stand any improvement!

I'm sad and lucky at the same time.

oh, i think if you went to the aussies thread and asked around, you'd find that i'm pretty 'out there'! a lot of us have met in r/l, and let's just say there were a couple of .... incidents.... anyway, point is, even being out there doesn't make me able to wear red lippy!

i adore vintage clothes :) before now, i've gone for a more 'flowing' look.... after spending a few hours with the stylist, i am now going to be hunting for slightly more formal and structured garments. i'd like to find some more jackets... maybe mens so they're more tailored. and then feminise them a little with buttons etc.

goodness knows what size i am - yesterday, i found that each store is different! some size 10's fit me, some 12's and in one i couldn't get into anything less than a size 16!!!
i weigh 59kg and have been toning for the last few months. i don't understand why the actual size of the clothes can be so different under the same size label.
i think from now on, when i buy something, the first thing i'm going to do is cut out the label!

So long warrior queen. Hello style queen.

heh.
i did insist that i be allowed to keep my jeans and work shirts! i live on a farm, and there are days when i have more sheep poop than sunscreen on!
next week i'm going back to see her for a swimsuit fitting.
that's about the only thing left.

oh for fucks sake!

if you can still drive a dish cloth and guide a vacuum cleaner, no one really gives a fuck what colour lipstick you are wearing, your eye shadow is irrelevant all that counts is limb coordination and incontinence (lack of). get a fucking grip.:rolleyes:

Ya think?

I thought of it as an indication of her abandonment of her Boudiccan-style principles.

That may be what you thought you were saying.. but it came across as brown nosing. no offence, but she is only a non male, not a fucking god like deity.

I kinda like women with Boudiccan-style principles. I felt betrayed.

you appear to have the mistaken belief that i did this for other people!
i did this for me.
i did this so i'd feel better about ME.
selfish, self-centred, ME!
i deserve it :D

I can relate to that stand point sistah! but why not just kill the bastards? ~I also, frequently like to feel good about 'me'. the ward staff do not often agree though. for example, even after last weeks incident, its fucking mashed parsnips again tomorrow lunch! that is taking the piss.
