Want a break from the norm? My first non-consent story, featuring one unfortunate man who has been taken hostage by four female bank robbers. I would like to say hilarity ensues, but Hollywood is three thousand miles to the left. Abduction, violence, sex, more sex, and a brief appearance from a strap-on. I've already said too much. Please read, vote, and comment. I'm in the process of penning a sequel.

I went from a nice "H" rating to almost under a three in less than a day. The little feedback I did receive was positive, but I have no idea why the votes are sliding down the scale. Anyone care to elaborate?

I'm going to give you a difficult bit of advice to apply: try not to worry about the voting. It's wonky.

In the meantime, in no particular order, below are a few potential contributing factors to your recent score shift.

1) Statistics: you've got less than 5,000 views so I'm guessing that you don't have that many votes. A couple of 2 or 3 votes might have been enough to tank its score.
2) You asked for feedback here: the folks who frequent Lit's forum (as opposed to the folks who pop in and out of the main story site) are a bit more finicky. If they're not writers themselves, they at least take their literate smut seriously. A few of the forum folks reading and voting may have tugged the story's score down.
3) Sweeps: the site admins run a periodic sweep that deletes "fraudulent votes" where said fraud is defined by an algorithm whose calculations they have not made public for obvious reasons. Seems to me that votes coming from the same IP address would be prime deletion material. Did you vote 5's on your own story from your laptop and your desktop at home? The sweep may have wiped one of 'em out.
4) Ticked someone off on Lit?: Lit readers (and other authors) can get cranky and it's a little too easy for them to come find your latest offering and give it 1 bombing. Evidently, writers who post to loving wives routinely see upset readers go after their entire list of postings for daring to include/not to include cuckolding.
5) Friendly front wave: did you reach out to friends when your new story posted? They'd have probably skewed high since they're your friends. The unbiased folks came later, and, well, sorry, but your story's real score might be the lower one

There's probably more possible causes to your score dip, but we're proving up the meta-point I stated at the start of this post: the voting is wonky. Best ignore it as much as you can.

Hope this helps,

-PF

I'm shamelessly plugging my last story for one more go round. Would love to get some more views, maybe a comment.

Chapter 2 is up. I'm wondering if I picked the wrong category to file it under, or are people automatically turned off by non-con? Can I get some feedback, please?

I liked it, thought that is was very well written, quite interesting, and a different twist on the category.
I must admit that I never saw the twist in the first one coming. the second was a surprising yet inevitable.

Thanks for the feedback. I think the categories throw many people off. Everyone has a different view of what to expect when they see the cat, and make decisions based on that, before reading the first line. Thanks again for reading.

I think in noncon, it has a downplayed version of the problem they have in LW. I got several negative votes on my noncon story because it WASNT a violent-ish rape scenario (I originally meant for it to be in first-time, but it switched because of some slight reluctance in the beginning.) And other stories get voted down because they ARE violent-ish rape scenarios. People are looking for two things that fit in one category.
