Now.. I thought I'd try these pink sparkly ones for valentines day (they're hearts). They are also hair clips actually. Made of metal. A bit sharp.

Note: while I can't just do a boring, hold the clips in my hand pic... the item in my mouth schtick feels stale... but here we go nonetheless...

I do appreciate when you, or anyone else takes the time to compliment me - all dimensions. I know I keep harping on "the past decade" but every day I notice a thought, a reaction, a response that shouldn't be in my mind... but it is.

Here's an example: While at the hotel bar in Austin - a couple was sitting at the bar and they had a male friend with them. The couple was very touchy feely, and while trying not to ogle... The worst thing is... I put that thought there myself. When I resigned myself to the fact that, at 31 years old, my sexuality was like my appendix - it was a part of me, but I could do nothing with it. So, out of self preservation, I made a conscious and unconscious effort to distance myself from sexuality and sensuality. I think it's going to take a similar conscious and unconscious effort to undo what I've done.

So while the compliments are definitely an ego boost and confidence builder for me... they go beyond that. They help rewrite the thoughts in my mind. They give my unconscious something to grab hold of and use to re-form my sexual identity. That's why I make the effort to thank everyone who takes the time to respond to me - I truly am grateful for it.
