My sympathy with the knee thing as I have a matching pair just like yours with both needing major surgery but due to other problems that won't be happening plus on 25th January I had a fall hurting both knees plus my left shoulder :(
Oh if only i was a pain slut how much pleasure I'd be having. Replacement seems to be the thing to fix arthritic kness joints so my suggestion would be see a GP & get referal to specialist, you will need X rays so show how arthritic your knee is.

As for dealing with the hospital system I'm a believer in only if I'm near death but do use the local medical centre which is so much quicker. I also hope your thermos & meals don't keep you there longer as the hospital system of "If you eat or drink anything make the patient wait longer" as has happened to a friend who had a sore ankle  had a cup of tea while waiting 2 hours to be seen but had to wait even longer for X rays etc before being told that the ankle was sprained & sent on his way.

I last saw Billy when he had no grey hair & he cut the place up although I did comsume a fair amout of "Nature pleasure plant" prior.

I kind of lost interest in Dr Who after the original B&W series.

Thank you Mr Gil. It is a pain, literally. I am at the stage of being sick of limping. Plus so want to get better as a I have date this week to "bend". Not that much of a painslut that I want to limp and not be able to sit...laughs.

Please don't say that about the waiting room. I don't use the hospital system, but to have xrays and not pay an arm and leg (after having the breast situation where I had to fork over for several mammograms, ultrasounds, fine needle aspirations, biopsies and various doctor visits) I will just have to gird my loins, so to speak and sit patiently. Oh well, needs to be done. Just have to put my big girl panties on.

Goodness that was a time ago since you saw Billy. Think I needed the herbal influence maybe to really get a good belly laugh. That was what was missing..the belly laugh he usually inspires in you.

Maybe it was just a night where he was tired and drained. Imagine it would all catch up with you eventually. Still and all, people pay good money to see him.

I hope all the loverly ladies on the Aussie thread have a fantastic Valentines day especially my wonderful BANDIT:heart: the sweetest of them all, I love you my Wonder Woman.

well, it could only happen to wq

after waking up at some ungodly hour yesterday, i primped myself up to the nines and headed off to the airport to go get my guy.
i always pick him up in the BIG GIRL - super-fast V8, for those who don't know what i'm talking about - because HE misses HIS car almost as much as HE misses me ;)
so.... off i drive sedately (and if you believe wq drives this car slowly i'll send you the tooth fairy for a naughty weekend!) and everything's going well.... car behaving beautifully and all excited and wet with anticipation (me, not the car!).
about halfway to the airport, i realised i had some time to kill, so i thought i'd pull into the carwash and give the BIG GIRL a bit of a bath.
all shiny and clean, i jumped back in to go to the airport.....
.... only to find she wouldn't start :(
after accosting every man that came to fill up at the servo, i realised that mechanics do not go driving on sundays :(:(
i borrowed the servo lady's car and tore off down to the airport and picked HIM up.
and then we spent the entire rest of yesterday with the servo lady's husband and a whole bunch of his mates trying to fix the BIG GIRL.
and she's still not going :(

if you're interested, the electronic coil is overheating under load, and then has a meltdown. none of us can figure out why, yet.
we're back down there this arvo to keep trying.
the only good thing to come of this whole episode is that these guys who are helping us are legends - legends with a fully-stocked workshop of car parts!
i bought a new head for my LTD, which has a blown head, from these dudes for $50!

moral of the story....
the $65K car is NOT working.
the LTD is not working.
the crappy little diahatsu i bought for my son's first car, which cost a grand total of $500, never misses a f*cking beat!!!

:eek::eek::eek:

I hope all the loverly ladies on the Aussie thread have a fantastic Valentines day especially my wonderful BANDIT:heart: the sweetest of them all, I love you my Wonder Woman.

I've had a great Valentine's Day so far. I had the most beautiful dozen red roses delivered at work with a wonderful card attached. I was teased so much about them, that my workmates were calling me the 13th red rose!!

Good Morning (just)

Hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday. I am having a lovely lazy day....smiles. Albeit slightly enforced, my girl spilt oil and didn't clean every skerrick up, so guess who slipped, banged the arthritic knee which has seen her limping since October and fell straight upon said knee? Yes, me! So on a walking stick now. Hobbling like an old girl around the place....grrrrr. Not happy Jan. But off to hospital to amuse myself in the lines of the waiting area tomorrow, been debating on thermos of tea or coffee and whether to take lunch, or lunch, dinner and breakfast for my wait.

On a brighter note, did get to see Billy Connolly the other night. Waited years to see him, but he was not at his best. Have seen him perform on DVD and Television with funnier shows. Still he was amusing and I got Dinner and a Ticket for free...the best sort.

Welcome FelMarch, you'll find a great, if small at times, group of people in the aussie thread as yo've no doubt discovered for yourself.

I used to love Dr Who, have been watching the new ones and they are not bad. At least it's not so scary anymore and I don't watch between my fingers...smiles. Well not that I'm going to own up to on here...:D

Hello to Callie and Mr Gil too, nice to see you didn't melt in the heatwave you had down there. Hope it's cooler for all you of southern climes.

Well I am off to make coffee and enjoy the peace whilst my girl is at work.

Be safe, smile stay wicked everyone.

Hi Miss Moon, our weather is so weird lately. Feels like we are living in the tropics!!

According the the weather expert this morning we are now over the worst of the weather & things should settle down from here on in, time will tell if they are right or not.

All I can think of is GO HOLDEN !!!!

why must it always be a rivalry?
i have had fords, and i have had holdens - and let me tell you right now, there's f*ck-all difference between the two.

having said that.... i'm seriously considering going back to a motorbike.
i've never had any issues with any bike i've owned.
every car stuffs up big time.

gee I was in hope of getting the thread to fire up with a bit of Ford V Holden rivalry but no luck, I've owned both brands, raced both brands & don't give a fuck I had good times & bad with both makes.

I'd love to have my old Z 1000 back & I really do miss riding so much, it was big, powerful, handled, stopped, had no masses of plastic bits just a naked bike & the Z 900 was the same I could jump on either bike & know its & my limits. I did have he Z 900 up to 220KPH a few times but only when it was clear ahead.

Oh you see aitch. Ain't it always the way? Good luck with getting the main machines mobile again, WQ.

I hate to be the party pooper (because the Spyder certainly does have all of the above), but it has something most bikes don't - a price tag equivalent to a small CAR! If the Lotto jackpot ever sees sense and lands in my pocket, a Spyder will be mine - but I can't see it happening before then :(

Hi Miss Moon, our weather is so weird lately. Feels like we are living in the tropics!!

Hi Callie, goodness that is humid then for you all down that way. I must admit with the constant rain at one stage it felt like Cairns and surrounds. We had a reprieve for awhile but today it is going to be 35C .... I loathe it. Have been enviously watching Wellington, NZ weather....24C....just right. Sighs.

Hope everyone is hale and hearty and being wickedly sinful (or sinfilled ;)).
I'm being a good girl. Well enforced being a good girl and behaving...damn. Today I'm going to get a good book and sit somewhere in airconditioning, yes..I don't have the pleasure of as yet. Every year I swear we will get it and every summer is the same. Next year I cross my um...heart, I will have it and be blessedly cool instead of sitting on ice thingies. Then again, I do so love ice..smiles.

Enough of the silliness, off to face my day and the wretched heat. Enjoy who or what you do today. Stay safe and smile.

I know exactly what your talking about as of the moment I think my only hope is finding something in the council clean ups.

Okay, I am over summer..it's official. Just had 3 horrendously hot days and in the words of Peter Finch in "Network", "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it". Hid out at the waterfront on the bay for last two days. But the reality is you then come home to a hotbox. I want autumn!!

Rant over ....for now, as long as no more hot days like the last few, I'm better. Laughs.

Glad it cooled down for you Mr Gil. You have really had the hot and humids in Sydney town this year. As I type it is raining, the after effects from the 700 km storm front that swept across eastern Queensland this afternoon. We had two storm cells hit us in succession. I have read the police reports saying that there is localised flash flooding....let's hope it rains enough tonight to cool things and then clears. More major rainfall is not what we need at this stage up here at all.

Hope it is cooler for everyone wherever they are.

Well it seems we got a cooler day but the humid weather continues here. I saw some footage of the storms that hit Brissy on the news & count us lucky that it is only the humidity to bitch about rather than all the they have been going through in QLD.

Now I see a really shocking news story that is a must read for everyone.
