Thanks, Callistamon!

Well, I'm juggling Mike Carlton's Cruiser - historical non-fiction, which is very unusual for me - with catching up with the Escape Pod SF short story podcast (I know, technically listening, but still). And I'd say my favourite items of SF are H. G. Wells' The War of the Worlds, Doctor Who (the new series that started in 2005) and Tron.

Thanks, Gil! Well, my lady wife, reading, science fiction, sweet food (though I'm working on that). Think that about covers it!

A friend of mine is trying to get a Sci Fi forum site up & running & is looking for members , give it a look & join up then get posting & invite others you may know to also join up, it's free & will only work id people get involved.

i personally don't do sci fi.... but i've emailed a few diehards who do :)

I'm with you WQ as Sci Fi dosen't do much for me although War of the Worlds & other early day stuff I do like the modern stuff leave me void of desire to watch.

BANDIT:heart: is into a lot of them like the modern Dr Who.

Hi FelMarch,

Another Dr who fan, lol there seems to be alot of us around, I've been a fan for a long time. I watched the old series as a kid. I didn't think much of the new tron film though. I found it a bit blah.

Anyway, welcome

Mike.

:) My first Doctor was Peter Davison, who I think is bloody awesome. I don't remember much of it, though. I've loved all the new series Doctors so far, although I wish Chris Eccleston had stuck around for longer.

The new Tron? Yeah, it ain't perfect, and, well, okay, it's not what you'd call great either. But I still enjoyed it, it's more Tron (which I honestly thouht we'd never get) and hopefully the next one will have some more oomph.

March

Good Morning (just)

Hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday. I am having a lovely lazy day....smiles. Albeit slightly enforced, my girl spilt oil and didn't clean every skerrick up, so guess who slipped, banged the arthritic knee which has seen her limping since October and fell straight upon said knee? Yes, me! So on a walking stick now. Hobbling like an old girl around the place....grrrrr. Not happy Jan. But off to hospital to amuse myself in the lines of the waiting area tomorrow, been debating on thermos of tea or coffee and whether to take lunch, or lunch, dinner and breakfast for my wait.

On a brighter note, did get to see Billy Connolly the other night. Waited years to see him, but he was not at his best. Have seen him perform on DVD and Television with funnier shows. Still he was amusing and I got Dinner and a Ticket for free...the best sort.

Welcome FelMarch, you'll find a great, if small at times, group of people in the aussie thread as yo've no doubt discovered for yourself.

I used to love Dr Who, have been watching the new ones and they are not bad. At least it's not so scary anymore and I don't watch between my fingers...smiles. Well not that I'm going to own up to on here...:D

Hello to Callie and Mr Gil too, nice to see you didn't melt in the heatwave you had down there. Hope it's cooler for all you of southern climes.

Well I am off to make coffee and enjoy the peace whilst my girl is at work.

Be safe, smile stay wicked everyone.

My sympathy with the knee thing as I have a matching pair just like yours with both needing major surgery but due to other problems that won't be happening plus on 25th January I had a fall hurting both knees plus my left shoulder :(
Oh if only i was a pain slut how much pleasure I'd be having. Replacement seems to be the thing to fix arthritic kness joints so my suggestion would be see a GP & get referal to specialist, you will need X rays so show how arthritic your knee is.

As for dealing with the hospital system I'm a believer in only if I'm near death but do use the local medical centre which is so much quicker. I also hope your thermos & meals don't keep you there longer as the hospital system of "If you eat or drink anything make the patient wait longer" as has happened to a friend who had a sore ankle  had a cup of tea while waiting 2 hours to be seen but had to wait even longer for X rays etc before being told that the ankle was sprained & sent on his way.

I last saw Billy when he had no grey hair & he cut the place up although I did comsume a fair amout of "Nature pleasure plant" prior.

I kind of lost interest in Dr Who after the original B&W series.
