trouble comes when your eyes are trying to focus on one word or sentence but the brain's trying to assimilate the entire contents of a paragraph.

Finally... somebody who writes-in-Stengelese...

“I stayed up last night and watched the Republican Convention all night long. I watched all of them talk, and listened to them and seen them and I'm not interested in politics. If you watch them and listen to them you can find out why.” -Casey Stengel

We already know this.

Plus, we would appreciate it if you look at your keyboard, in the upper right hand corner, there should be a light with the label 'Caps Lock'. This light is on when you have pressed your 'Caps Lock' key, located on the left side of the keyboard.

In the future, when you post, please press the 'Caps Lock' key and make sure the indicator light is off.

Mkay?

Thanks.

Hey, Einstein, I've got a tough one for you. Why do you think the Cambridge research is true? What is it about the human brain that would explain that ability?

I'll wait.

Answer: Years of repetition by educated people spelling the word correctly. The correct pattern of letters has been ingrained in long-term memory so that a minor change in the pattern does not result in confusion. That's why spelling matters.

Why thank you Col :)
I had the same questions.
I love random bits of useful information and was hoping someone would do my homework for me.;)

I read that last century somewhere.

To change all caps to lowercase, C&P into Work, highlight the text to change, hit Shift + F3 until the desired style is shown. Like so:

It's a slow day at Lit, nobody's posting porn, I was educamating, and I'm tired about griping about Sarah Palin.

Plus, they took it in good humor, which is rare in a newbie, usually they scream we are mean and disappear forever.

So, I also kind of like the newbie.

I'm still not sure how this relates to grammar though. The spelling is off but the commas and periods are placed correctly, aren't they?

It is a slow day, I even went to the PG but got scared and came back over here.
::sighs:: I'll never get enough posts to feel validated by my awesome AV. Such is life.

And btw (yes I did it), thanks for the edgumacation:D

A human might understand it, bit a computer won't.

Who does business with humans these days?

There are learning disabilities where people can't process a word unless they read it one letter at a time, but I'm sure the study only included "normal" readers. (And that's not a snark, just something I know from working with students with learning disabilities.)

I think we'd better be pretty fucking careful about who we discuss grammar with.
