Been drizzling pretty constantly here in central Victoria, a few breaks on and off but I think we'll be taking umbrella's wherever we go for a little while longer.

I don't mind the rain, but I'm sure I would quickly get sick of it if it was flooding the place out.

Waves and blows a  to Mr Gil and Bandit. Hope you are both well and thriving in this new year.

Waves to Kaye and sends a cheery hello!

{{{{Moon}}}} What a treat to see you. Hope things are going well for you.

All of Oz is in my prayers. That flooding is horrendous! :(

{{{{{{Elfie}}}}}} :kiss::heart:

Happy New Year sweetie. I like your Christmas joke. :D I've missed your posts and it is lots of fun reading all of them. Hope you are back often.

Hey Kayte,

I see you have that flight theme still going in your av's. Yep hoping for a less busy 2011 and looking forward to the next ten years which I intend to make my last decade of working. Early retirement for me just have to find another job or two to see me out. Although if the weather pattern keeps going the way it has over the last 12 months I may need to think about buying an ark rather than a holiday home. Water shortages...really...seems rather wet to me...notice however that the cost of the stuff still goes up even when he have more than we can use...funny that

i know it looks like we're being hammered by rain down here in tassie - but we've actually only had about 2mm in the last few days.
the weather map shows storms over me right now, but apart from some high cloud nothing is happening yet (i need some rain desperately - water tanks need filling!)

having said that, i made a donation to the qld flood victims, and i'm in the process of sorting clothes and other bits to send up with the salvo's.
it's going to be a long hard road back from nothing for a hell of a lot of people over the next few months/years.

{{{{{{{wq}}}}} :kiss::heart:

Hoping that the terrible stuff stays away and that you just get enough rain to fill the tanks.
My heart and prayers go out to all of those people dealing with the flooding.

Unlike George Shrub our government has already reacted starting with handouts to victims of the floods, the army has been moved into the flood aid system so think ours might be reacting well ...... so far.

{{{{Gil}}}}}

I'm hoping and praying your government immediate response saves so much that could be lost. I like your moniker for Bush. :D

Be careful!!!

They've caught the Red Cross here charging people for food & blankets after a hurricane went thru up in the pan handle here.
The guys I know were amazed they wanted $5 each from a family that had lost everything for bowls of soup & some bottled water.
They chewed at the Red Cross & gave the family $50 they pulled together to be able to eat for a couple of days.

{{{{{{Starry}}}}} :kiss::heart:

And that is just so wrong! That should have made a much larger splash in the news around the world than it did.

ELFIE!! Does a happy dance. Oh dear lord I must get a hobby or a life. But it is good to hear from you. Now it is Dykes dear boy and I have had my fingers in a few of those over the years let me tell you. (mind from gutter....we used to made dams in the creeks and if the stones came out I'll put my finger in while they found new stones.....though....well the other is true too...but that's a whhhoollllle other story ;)).

Glad to hear your Christmas/New Year was good. Mine was quiet, still recuperating after my foray to Wellington...love it so much there I want to live there. sighs.... Though the 20 year old lad who pursued me and wanted to um...keep me company was a little beyond me. At 20 there was not way I was spending time with anyone old enough to be my um....Aunty....yes that is it, Aunty.

Now as for you being a good boy, well that does remain to be um proved...smiles. Always ready to evaluate your abilities...have a clipboard and white coat ....blinks... Do I need to bring my cane with me if it turns out you are naughty? mmmmm

Well I hope this cominng year brings you all that you desire, want, need and a little more on top.

:kiss:MsMoon:kiss:

Hiya Ms Moon,

Never stuck my finger in a dyke..have chased some beaver though...but not a dyke beaver...

Good to hear that you are dry and safe. I have some friends in those areas mentioned in different parts of Queensland. One in Toowoomba and one in Gypie, hopefully they are ok. Have another friend in Red Hill in Brisbane, haven't seen that on the list of flood impacted areas so I'm assuming she is fine.

Seems like we have lots of water in lots of places and more wet stuff on the way. Waiting for our turn over the next few days. Crazy stuff considering we have bush fires in WA and floods over there, plus we have locusts in the west of Vic. Somebody doesn't seem to like us much at the moment. Very tragic the things that are going on right now. Not much people can do but wait it out and rebuild. The worst of it is children losing their lives.

Yep I like NZ as well. My next trip over will be to drive the south island. I have been down south before but I want to drive it now that I have done the north island that way. Now you know that you are only as young as the person you feel...so I guess being pursued by a 20yr old is good for the ego anyway. I was nearly picked up by two older married women when I was in Hawaii many years ago...I didn't pursue that one.

Well you are quite welcome to bring along your clipboard and white coat...don't forget your glasses and a pen...although not sure how steady your hand would be whilst bent over the table...underwear is optional...well you wouldn't have them on for long so why wear them in the first place right :D

don't like the red cross and they sell the blood you give. I know it cost to procss the blood but not what they charge !

aaaaarghh!!!!
i've just finished doing the ledger for july/dec 2010 tax.
it's raining, so i thought i'd sit down with some paperwork.
now i'm mentally fucked :(

my tanks are full.
the rain can stop now.

The Queensland (and Northern NSW) floods are a terrible tragedy. My Brother and his partner live in Ipswich but luckily left on Monday to come down here for Mum's funeral. They are still unsure if they can get back. They've been in constant contact with family, friends and neighbours and all are safe so far with no major loss of property. They are indeed among the lucky. So much loss up there...... :rose:

Beavers huh? Got a thing for the orthodontically challenged have you? Smiles. Hope you get to hear your friends are safe, Red Hill mostly is fine, the deeper valley areas and gullies would be awash, but overall Red Hill is indeed hills, rotten steep ones to stagger drunkenly home to...so I heard.

Elfie does New Zealand...the mind boggles....are they ready for that? Yes, I want to do more of the North and then the South, hopefully this year. I was going to do the Interislander ferry to Picton and then hitch...on trains and plains to Dunedin. Luckily I didn't go on the day I was, the Captain was taken hostage on the bridge when they left port!! It was windy as hell that weekend too, so I would have had to taken the idiot out, I am not a good sailor, so would have been so crook I'd take him on singel handedly just to get to port...laughs.

Am so jealous of you being able to paint. Have got a house that looks like a bomb went off in it, half the carpet ripped up, bare boards waiting to be polished and painting of outside and inside to do. On cue the rain has started falling again as I speak. Sheesh. Need to buy new furniture and not sure when I can order it either....but hey, we are safe, dry-ish and alive....***** is good.

NOW!! Who started that terrible rumour Elfie boy? That is slanderous....
absolutely......who said I wear panties?? Gees things are crook when people go around saying things like that about you. What's that you need proof? *Slowly leans across table, placing hands stretched out in front, palms down. Hips to table edging*

Please stop screaming "oh the humanity" like that....

Wherever you are in this wide land of ours keep well A/all. Let's hope that this country is done with disasters for awhile now.

Kayte, apologies for mis-spelling your name....how rude of me. Nice to see you on though. smiles.

:kiss:MsMoon:kiss:

Ps....does this mean there'll be a birthday spanking for Webbo? Mm mmm MMmmmm.....lines up first.....flexes fingers and waits for 19th.

I'm counting down the next 5 days until my 24th Birthday. No idea of what I should do though.

In other news, Bendigo (although nowhere near bad) has several roads flooded out, and the creeks around town are full. Spent the day working with my father looking at houses who's gutters were still uncleaned and had flooded over. Surprise surprise. Looks like the rains are here for a few days I suspect. Plumbing work will be busy.

Cheers.

I can't stand the weather we have here the past few days... have never been so hot and sweaty in my life. It's no use having a shower as you just start sweating the second you leave the house.

Can we go back to 'normal' weather already instead of this overcast, hot and humid and rainy stuff?

QLD was told to plug & block all their drains to stop the fluids comming back up & making the damage worse.

It seems as though the Man Upstairs has water in his ears as he don't hear Northern NSW or QLD at all. :(

Taps the Taser......Mmmm sooon my beauty...soon. Run.....I dare you. *bites lip with anticipation*

Remembers some sage words of advice by a previous C.O

"Son when confronted by overwhelming ods ..... LEG IT"
