This morning, my daughter-in-law went into labor. If she hasn't already done so, my youngest, and probably last, granddaughter will be born. She has already been tentatively named Sidney. I was not consulted as to her name, but during a discussion on Sunday, I suggested Greenstreet as a middle name. I don't think anybody caught the reference, but I hope they don't take me seriously.

My wife, the baby's other grandmother, at least one aunt and maybe some cousins will be helping prepare the home for the baby's arrival, so I'm keeping out of their way. :)

The females in the family seem to have a penchant for being born around Christmas. There was another girl born five years ago Dec. 28 and my wife was born on December 25, 71 years ago.

Congratulations to the mother-- and grandpa as well!

Babies get born in the winter because ladies and gentlemen get frisky in the spring. :D

I remember reading about a lot of action in tghe maternity ward around Christmas. They called it the Saint Patrick's Day rush. :D

Well, the baby was born two hours ago, and her name is Katherine. I think that's a better name than Sidney, since the latter is not a very common name around here for girls. :)

Here, everybody. Have yourselves some expensive cigars. :) http://www.*****************.com/article/423079/a_look_at_expensive_cigars.html

Hey, that's fantastic! Please pass my congratulations on to the proud parents. Katherine is a wonderful name. Especially for a girl.

Cigar link doesn't work. But that's okay. I don't smoke.
