I read it. There is no formal stem cell treatment in this country or any other. It’s experimental, research done in labs. Just like there is no AIDS vaccine, it’s all being tested.
Glad our government blocks funding for stem cell research.....why cure disease??
Not by me. You and I differ on all kinds of stuff, but I don't think of you as bigoted.
Saying AIDS is a disease of gays is a bigoted statement; it reflects the speaker's bias against homosexuals, not to mention a deep ignorance of the disease itself. As you pointed out above, it also affects people who need transfusions, unborn children, people who (agreed, they're idiots) share needles, etc. Health care workers. Anyone of any sexual orientation who has unprotected sex. In the case I mentioned above, a couple of special forces guys were attacked by a pair of shitheads somewhere in Africa. One of them bit one of the soldiers.
walk into a church and ask them to shake hands with god.... see what the child molesting priest says.... dope
Look, we're sorry you were molested by a priest, but this note is getting pretty damned old Nellie...
It's bigotry, ad Hominem by circumstance (class).
All religion (pastors/reverends/priests) are bad because you got groped, yada, yada, yada...,
It does reflect the early arguments, the fear, and the hysteria. If you wanted to discuss AIDS you had one choice in position, anything less than total devotion to the gay community meant you were a stark raving homophobe, hater and bigot. There was no dissenting opinion allowed from "the flat-earth Bible-thumper contingent."
So for someone to make an off-hand joke about it does not really make them much more than a social commentator in this instance in light of the hysteria and the call to arms well before the facts could muster (reminds me of the lie and shoes analogy). The bigot, the way ya'll seem to be using it, might be the one who stresses that there is only one proper opinion be it AIDS or Glow Ball Warning.

you are, as usual, missing the point by a country mile.
it is experimental but it's not just being done in labs, it's being done on humans as well.
Thats called faith. Do you always need to see, before you believe?
"faith", huh?
Sounds like you're a good little sheep.
But I'm sure you'll be the first one in church when this shit house goes up in flames.....see ya round kid!
Are you saying that we're facing the "end times"? Gee, your kind haven't been peddling that crap for the last 1000 years...
It's kind of old. You should really get a new boogieman... you know, like mexicans, or maybe muslims...
Years/time, is a human creation. Who says "god" follows that kind of timeline?
Speaking of god, it just started to snow....shit!
So you don't believe in time; but you believe in a mysterious zombie saviour, a book written by some dudes whose name's you don't even know, and a magical fairy land that you transcend to you go when you die.
But there's no such thing as stem cell research.
Got it.
You're a nutjob.
where did I write that I didn't believe in stem cell research?
So the time it takes the Earth to orbit the Sun is a human creation? Entropy and the conditions that give rise to the second law of thermodynamics are a human creation? Doesn't seem to leave much for your god to do, does it?Years/time, is a human creation. Who says "god" follows that kind of timeline?

You do know that years, months and days are based on naturally occuring phenomena, right?Years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, seconds, nanoseconds. Each and every single one of these is a construct of man.
You do know that years, months and days are based on naturally occuring phenomena, right?
You've just got to have faith, man!
I guess that justifies using phrases like "faggish behavior," huh? This from the CDC, that grossly bigoted government agency:
Gay and bisexual men — referred to in CDC surveillance systems as men who have sex with men (MSM)1 — of all
races continue to be the risk group most severely affected by HIV. Additionally, this is the only risk group in the U.S. in
which the annual number of new HIV infections is increasing. There is an urgent need to expand access to proven HIV
prevention interventions for gay and bisexual men, as well as to develop new approaches to fight HIV in this population.
A Snapshot
t MSM account for nearly half of the more than one million people living with HIV in the U.S. (48%, or an estimated
532,000 total persons).
t MSM account for more than half of all new HIV infections in the U.S. each year (53%, or an estimated 28,700 infections).
t While CDC estimates that MSM account for just 4 percent of the U.S. male population aged 13 and older, the rate of
new HIV diagnoses among MSM in the U.S. is more than 44 times that of other men (range: 522–989 per 100,000
MSM vs. 12 per 100,000 other men).
t MSM are the only risk group in the U.S. in which new HIV infections are increasing. While new infections have
declined among both heterosexuals and injection drug users, the annual number of new HIV infections among MSM
has been steadily increasing since the early 1990s.
t According to the latest estimates, white MSM represent a greater number of new HIV infections than any
other population, followed closely by black MSM — who are one of the most disproportionately affected
subgroups in the U.S.
t The primary ages at which MSM become infected differ by race:
• Young Black MSM: Most new infections among black MSM occur among young black MSM. In fact, there are more
new HIV infections among young black MSM (aged 13–29) than among any other age and racial group of MSM.
The number of new infections among black MSM in this age group is roughly twice that of their white and Hispanic
counterparts (5,220 infections in blacks vs. 3,330 among whites and 2,300 among Hispanics).
• White MSM in their 30s and 40s: Most new infections among white MSM occur among those aged 30–39 (4,670),
followed by those aged 40–49 (3,740).
• Young Hispanic MSM: Among Hispanic MSM, most new infections occur in the youngest (13–29) age group (2,300),
though a substantial number of new HIV infections also occur among those aged 30–39 (1,870).

The man said it was bigoted to say that AIDS is a gay disease, but it's pretty damn close if the MSM (Males who have sex with men), 4% of the male population, in the United States are carrying half the infections in the country, and are the only affected population group who's numbers are increasing. just sayin'.
