That's a million in less than 7 years with no guarantee the exodus won't speed up, depending on how much the Legislature wants to punish success.
how many move into California?

It's going to have to get into the top five to pay the bills.
That's a really lame point.

Because the longer your post the more likely you are to be right.
California is in the shitter because running America is damned expensive. We pay over three hundred BILLION in taxes to the federal government California's debt and deficiet combined are in the neighborhood of 20 billion. We don't need help. We need to stop carrying the lazy weak poor Americans that depend on us and slap us around. (note if you're from New York or Texas your carrying your load to) the rest of you, the proper term is thank you.
It's a net migration out per week of 5,000.
The parents of roughly 40 percent of the Hispanic students can't vote, so the official population probably lags behind the real figure.
Probably there'd be more efficiency in states like California and Texas if they didn't make an effort to organize the state. Usually disorganized clusterfucks work perfectly well.
Yes, without the following agencies California would be a disorganized clusterfuck. I wouldn't dream of living in a state that didn't have a biodiversity council.
* California Assembly Democratic Caucus
* California Assembly Republican Caucus
Certainly I could do without these two. There's your clusterfuck right there.
Here's your bullshit. Try a Google search for Scott Plotkin.

This board would be a better place if more people behaved like you both have in that exchange.
My hat is off to both of you.

* California Allocation Board
* California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority
* California Animal Health and Food Safety Services
* California Anti-Terrorism Information Center
* California Apprenticeship Council
* California Arbitration Certification Program
* California Architects Board
* California Area VI Developmental Disabilities Board
* California Arts Council
* California Asian Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus
* California Assembly Democratic Caucus
* California Assembly Republican Caucus
* California Athletic Commission
* California Attorney General
* California Bay Conservation and Development Commission
* California Bay-Delta Authority
* California Bay-Delta Office
* California Biodiversity Council
He's in AZ, not CA.It would be nice if you could read.
Your statement:
"...Or, consider Scott Plotkin, who pulled down a state salary and bonus of $562,333 in 2009 with the California School Boards Association...."
The except from the article:
"...The California School Boards Association is a non-profit coalition representing more than 1,000 California school districts and county offices of education..."
Their website in case you're interested:
http://www.csba.org/AboutCSBA.aspx
This organization is not a California government department, division or in anyway part of the state government. It's a private non-profit for Christ sake. Yes tax payer money's support it, yes it's manned by many of your school personnel, but it is not part of the government. Check your list of agencies, it isn't there.
That's why he was pulling down the salary he was. And why he was getting such huge bonuses.
So trying to say he was a "State" worker (as you did) is total bullshit.
You want to to take someone to task for this little fiasco, hammer your school officials. They're suppose to be looking after how they spend your tax dollars and it doesn't appear they are doing to good a job of it.
Besides, if you dumb fucks down there are allowing your government officials to earn that kind of pay and bonuses, you deserve getting the shaft.
Comshaw

You think that the office of the Attorney General is unreasonable?
But seriously, you have no fucking clue what you're talking about. So what if there's a biodiversity council? California has a massive wilderness, much of which is unique and fragile. Does this council cost much taxpayer money? What's their objective? Are they sucessful at it?
See? You're fucking clueless and just spouting off angry shit in the face of your own shocking ignorance.
California's plight doesn't make me angry. It's clearly self-inflicted and the massive list of state agencies is just one symptom, state employee pay and benefits being another. Another would be onerous regulations.
If you're convinced all these boards and agencies are legitimate and actually contribute to the quality of life in California, good for you.
Do you think this is at all related to California being the most populous state? It's also physically very large and is incredibly multi-faceted socially, economically, and politically.
If California was a country, it would have the world's 8th-largest economy (some calculations have it 5th!). The economy of California isn't too much smaller than China's. If you think something like that should be simple to run, well... that's your (unfounded) opinion.
(Source: http://www.lao.ca.gov/2006/cal_facts/2006_calfacts_econ.htm)
That's where we differ. You believe someone in an official capacity should "run" everything. I think you could get rid of 90 percent of those boards and agencies and California would be a more prosperous place.
Why do idiots keep quoting that big ass wall of text?
Having trouble figuring out why California is in the shitter?
