Writing this as a reminder to the US folks to push their clocks back tonight.

I'm also writing it down so I can remember to do it myself.:D

Ok, so for example: at 2:00am it magically becomes 1:00am

fuck the clocks

Hey, this is my all-time most favorite weekend of the year. There's an extra hour of sleep, or an extra hour for extra activities.

It's the one in the Spring that I want to fuck that clock.

I think Pellso and I want to move where they don't fuck with our clocks.

There's a town on the Indiana, Illinois border that doesn't change its clocks. Half the year they are on Illinois time the other half Indiana time. The border between those states is the delineation between Eastern and Central time zones. Zulu -5 (Eastern) and Zulu -6 (Central)

All this talk of clock fucking...
Is there a story there?? lol. :p

I like this time change. The one in the spring makes me tired for weeks. :D :D

Friggin' ridiculous! We should be on this time always and forget about Daylight's Savings time. What's the point now that we're on a global economy with many things happening 24/7? Used to be for farmers, but what the fuck? Let the farmers get an up an hour early and leave the rest of us to sleep. Why do I have to be on their clock?

I swear, every time we finally "fall back" I feel back in sync, and every time we "spring forward" I'm out of sync. And now the damn DST lasts longer! Meaning we get more time on it than off it? Is that fair? Is that right? Last I looked there was still equal time between equinoxes and solstices, so if we're changing the clocks to match hours of sunlight we should have as many days off DST as on!

Grrrrrr.

Oh. Look. I've an extra hour in my day. Thank you very much! :p

You've got that backwards; why should farmers (and farm animals who don't use clocks) have to conform to factory workers need for light that doesn't use up energy needed for the war effort?

Farmers have been the most consistent opponents of DST since the idea was first proposed as a way to save coal and coal oil for the war effort in WWI.

Personally, I think the timing is backwards; sunset yesterday around here was around 6PM. Today it will be around 5PM. I'm not up for sunrise whether the clocks match "natural time" or not, but I sure could use that extra hour before sunset when I am (usually) up.

Agreed

It suddenly occurs to me that there are now entire generations who have no idea what burning leaves smell like.

That very distinctive smell is one of the touchstones of childhood for people of a certain age.

Ahem, I think there might be a couple of generations in there, now. Not such a bad thing, though.

Steampunk. A porn tale about a clockwork woman. You wind her up and set her time by fucking her.

Maybe the clock fucking thing helps explain why, for a second, I thought the thread title was "Change Your Cocks."

We got a few idiots that would like to see BST (=DST) ;all the year round'. Absolute buffoons the lot of 'em.
Gimme GMT all the year; you want more time ? Get to work an hour earlier!
