It is and has been sad and pathetic that you really 'don't get it', do you?

A true 'Liberal' in the classic definition, acknowledges your rights to smoke dope, any kind you want, drop acid, do coke, get hip with heroin and play patty-cakes with peyote; a true Liberal also acknowledges your right to any sexual preference you choose.

A 'true' Liberal also accepts the responsibilities that coincide with the innate freedoms exercised. You function under the influence, you lose everything you have including your freedom.

You represent that 'lost' generation that has no morals, no ethics, no knowledge of right and wrong, good and bad, and bask narcissistically in your own hedonistic desires....as if anyone cares...

If you're going to insult me, you have to make sense. This isn't it. This is some wierd Freudian complex of yours. it isn't my problem nor is it anyone else's.

It's not like they need to legit it.
More to the point, the best weed wouldn't pass regulation anyway.

It was a Maguffin, anyway. it drove manymany young people to the polls. I kept saying to various kids; "Well, go and at least vote for pot!'

They got all excited about that. Then i would say; "While you're at it, heres some other things you should vote about," and hand them the Courage Campaign list.

I saw a lot of 20-something hipster types, being shown how to cast a ballot yesterday. I am sure that's partly why Calif stayed blue.

Well, as long as it stays illegal it will be that much longer that we get the fine evening news entertainment of the marijuana wars in Mexico. What's a night without stories of severed heads over control of the illegal weed industry?

Ami, Please.
Enough of the damned politics, eh
?

No.

I enjoy discussing many things, from art to literature to history and science and of a larger field, philosophy as is contains all of the above plus the glue that makes the connection, political dialog.

You rather disappoint me, Handle_Page, I would never in a millions years challenge your right to free speech when and as you chose.

California just said 'no' to another revenue generator eg: taxing herb. They need all the revenue they can get as their state deficit mounts and more businesses leave due to taxes and environmental controls.

Now that they have 'Governor Moonbeam' back in the state house look for further declines in CA's fortunes. ;)

I think the way to approach this in the future is to focus on the immense waste in taxpayer resources to arrest, convict, and incarcerate so many people for a "crime" that hurts far fewer people than legal vices such as alcohol and tobacco.

A true 'Liberal' in the classic definition, acknowledges your rights to smoke dope, any kind you want, drop acid, do coke, get hip with heroin and play patty-cakes with peyote; a true Liberal also acknowledges your right to any sexual preference you choose.

Actually, if true conservatism means that the government has no right to impinge on personal liberty unless there is a danger to the body politic, then it's the true 'conservative' who acknowledges your rights to smoke dope, any kind you want, drop acid, do coke, get hip with heroin and play patty-cakes with peyote; a true conservative also acknowledges your right to any sexual preference you choose.

Weed isn't Liberal or Conservative. You find all stripes using it. Ask them Cracker boys down in Alabama, or the red necks in Texas.

I heard on the radio today about a 30 ton bust on the Mexican border. They found a truck with 10 tons of Giggle Weed had come from a warehouse, where the found another 10 tons and a tunnel that went from Mexico to the Oty Mesa, about 600 yards.

The Mexican police got another 10 tons that was waiting to be sent across! At $200 an oz. that's about....$64 Million dollars worth!
Of course if the State taxed it at $50 an oz, then they would have made $16 million, raising the consumer cost to $80 million.

Does this remind you of the Gaza Strip or what?

Of course it didn't pass. Everyone who wanted it to pass were too stoned to make it to the polls on time.

I'm not a pothead; it has been about 25 years since I used it, but I voted to legalize it, and I will vote the same way the next time the question arises. I believe adults have the right to use dope if they want to, especially when it is as harmless as MJ. See this other thread:

If these people had been smoking MJ instead of drinking, this other thing would have never happened.
