I wrote everything using my favorite pen. Then, I fell in love with the feel of the keys on my Smith Corona typewriter. I always hated the light touch of the IBM Selectrics
There's a great book by Steinbeck hardly anyone has read called (I think) Journal of a Novel. He always wrote in exercise books, but on the right hand pages only. Journal of a Novel is what he wrote on the left hand pages.
Anyway, he obsesses about the type of pencil he is to write with, wavering between B or 2B (I'm sure Shakespeare wrote something about that too).
I kinda agree about keyboards. When I started it was on an old Royal typewriter weighed about a ton, and I just loved the effort I had to put in to write. Now, I get hung up on the feel of computer keyboards, and if I'm writing longhand I always write better with a pencil (HB for me).
To all writers, I guess, the magic of actually getting words down gets all tangled up with how you get them down, which is why we have these little idiosyncrasies.
I don't think I could write by dictation - just wouldn't feel right (or write).
I posted a few stories here the got published on the site. I had never written anything before coming to this site.
I write a lot about bdsm and incest. is a pee scene in a story cause for rejection?
Is it acceptable to write stories with just bad decisions but no sex?

I wonder how much more the great writers would have written, had they had the access to a computer, instead of a quill and had they lived longer, instead of died so young. So many of them killed themselves.
I think, in the end, we are all products of the times in which we live. The computer is the weapon of choice for us today, just as the typewriter and the quill pen were in days of old.
But the battle is the same, even if the weapon has changed.
Or maybe I'm taking this far too seriously... still, it's interesting to think about![]()
Just wondering...
Do you guys vote for yourselves? lol.
"Weapon" would be a bit strong. We make love, not war, and that is also our preference to write about.
Tell me, how on Earth did you manage to join Literotica in 1969?![]()
Working like fury to get a last-minute entry submitted. It's tough this time...
My three entries are doing fine but not in contention for any awards (as usual LOL) DG
Just wondering...

So, my question is to all who have entered before. How high is the winning scores, usually?
The person quoted has pretty good scores, IMO - but what does it take to win?
Just curious.
