Asylum hasn't stirred up any trouble today so I'm going to light this stick of dynamite, throw it, and run to bed like a coward...

I just scooted higher than SR on the Favorite Authors List.

Suck it flyboy! Muhahahaha! *cough cough* Ow, I need to work on my maniacal laughter.

SR's a smartie, uber-published, certainly led a way more interesting life, and probably has a much larger penis.

My pathetic little victory will no doubt last for one day, maybe two tops. I thought it best to savor this moment in as mature a way as possible. :D

'Night all,

So SR sez, but who really knows who it is that lurks behind the pastel pink mask and cape he wears?

The story I heard is this: From 1960 thru 1975 SR flew an old DC6 from Clark Air Base to Cam Ranh Bay Vietnam once every month. The plane was filled with CIA Remington Rangers eager to collect the combat pay and mail shit for free. The only bad bush SR ever saw was at the CRB Officers Club.

THANK YOU! Have been looking for this list for a while, couldn't find it. FINALLY a link! Uhm, somehow thinking 746 is hardly a good number, but a hearty "oh well".

Guess I'll take what I can get.

I assumed you were ahead of me all along. I write primarily niche audience stories under this pen name, so it's a real chore to move up in that list. And even in that niche, there are lots of authors who have more votes and higher ratings on average than I do.

Apples to oranges, I know. Particularly because I have a couple of inc/tab stories. One of them cleared 400,000 pageviews in six months. I was tickled at first but now I'm just approaching appalled. The sheer size of the inc/tab audience here is retarded.

I'll float this out to all the longtime Lit-sters: has incest always been king?

You don't think having 746 people put you on their favorites list is good?

I've been here over ten years, so i feel confident in saying the EC category was the only one ever higher than incest/taboo. Incest has always been my favorite topic and it's almost always present in my big novel collection I wrote.

On a side note, I've only ever met one person who visited Literotica, and that was over ten years ago. Spreading the word is hard, especially when everyone I meet says "No!" to incest. Except for this recent guy who, after hearing my arguments on the matter, came back the next day to say he almost gave his cute cousin a call.

Try to tell people that reading about incest and fucking your mother isn't the same thing, but see where it gets you.

I hear what you're saying Copper and I do recall someone here posting a study on it (Owlwhisperer?), but I suspect this is another apples-to-oranges sort of the thing. EC strikes me as a catch-all category where a lot of stories get dumped for lack of anywhere better to categorize them. How many times have you seen EC stories with a bit of anal or BDsM or ex/voy but the author stuffed it in EC because they didn't want it to be about that particular subject matter?

To maintain my shitty fruit analogy, I think comparing inc/tab to EC is a bit like comparing apples to all tropical fruits as a class.

Sidenote: I inadvertently bumped into another Litster in a movie theater when I was skimming Lit feedback on my B-berry during the previews. It turned out a milfy thirtysomething sitting behind me was reading my B-berry over my shoulder. She leaned forward to say she'd read a few of my stories and thought they were "neat." Thank god my wife wasn't with me, she'd have flipped her lid.

LOL! I try to be quite careful to keep my multiple personalities separate. But if I became careless I could see this happening... only I don't buy into the whole iPhone thing and keep my stories on my PC. But this was a cute story at any rate.

And a valuable eminder to others (no, I had intended to write "eminder" and not "reminder", just so's ya know).

Since we're talking about wives flipping lids, mine (engaged at least; we exchanged rings in private) just read untold hours' worth of my chat logs with my co-author. I'm not too sure how I'm alive the morning after.

I don't feel that a guy fucking a girl in the ass necessitates slapping a story in Anal, nor does tying her up once. If the story spans more than say fifty thousand words, EC may be the best option just because you don't want people looking through Anal stories to find one scene in ten having any anal when they wanted 20% story and 80% buttfucking.

And you don't dare put it in Novellas. Novellas is where long-winded people go on and on about the characters without writing any actual sex. At least, that's my notion of it. My own stories get to be in the thirty-thousand word range, and in that case I'll separate them into incest here or group sex there if they divide that way. One of the best decisions I made, too, since the third ten thousand words of one chapter turned out to be my most popular post.

Incest is different from EC. The sex is the same, but the characters are related; put it in Incest. Help me then with this problem: A story I've written (about 100th or so on the do-post list, so don't hold your breath) is in letter form from front to back. It contains primarily lesbian sexual content with group lesbian content and mixed as well as occasional incest and anal. And some EX/Voy. What category?

And that's why EC ends up being the biggest category.

I vote lesbo. Although, is there hetero sex too? I usually try to avoid mixing hetero sex into stories I put in lez out of respect for the few rl lesbians who read that category here. You know, both of them. Xp They're the more fun folks to get feedback from anyway.

Um, no, the two have absolutely no relationship at all.

My own stories get to be in the thirty-thousand word range

So, what you're saying is that your stories go on and on about the characters without writing any actual sex? :D 'Cause 30,000 words is a novella.

If you'll care to check again, you'll find find the issue isn't to do with the length of a given story, but the location in which it's put.

If you'll check again, I quoted the section of your post that I was commenting on--which, as others had no problem seeing, was either contradictory or putting your own writing down--and you still apparently can't see it. A 30,000-word piece ipso facto is a novella. So, if you are knocking novellas--and limiting what they are to a ridiculously restricted content (as you did)--and you write novellas (you claimed your pieces were 30,000 words), then you are knocking what you write--and are writing the limited scope you claim novellas represent.

Beginning to sink in now?

In any case, your characterization of novellas was pretty silly.

I admire your enthusiasm if not your judgement.

"Novellas is where long-winded people go on and on about the characters without writing any actual sex."

Please note that I'm referencing the "Novels and Novellas" category as opposed to a story of a given length.

You're still missing the point.

I'll hazard a guess on Copper's behalf that he's of the opinion that his 30,000-word epics are lengthy without being long-winded and also provide what he deems a suitable quantity of sex.

You know, not like those self-indulgent Novella bastards. ;)

This is certainly fun. Go ahead; tell me my stories are long and boring if you insist because "novella" is a word that occurs in the "Novels and Novellas" category and the two are too difficult to differentiate. Whatever you do with your extra time is up to you.

For my part, I'm not saying your stories are long and boring. I top 30,000 words on a semi-regular basis and I'm sure some folks consider me long and boring when I do, too. I'm just ribbing you about calling other people's work long and boring.

Those gits over there with their character blabbity-blah and practically no naughty. Pyoo. Now when I do it, s'alright see, because it's smutty and real entertaining-like.

It gave me a chuckle is all.

We're just teasing, Copper. Well, I am anyway. :) You know how some of us get when we catch a whiff of self-confidence (or worse, self-esteem) coming off another writer. It brings out the need to torture.
