Looking for plot driven sci-fi / nonhuman stories

Hello world!

So I've read a lot of authors that I love on this site...however it seems I can read faster than the stories can be posted .
The more I read and enjoy, the more difficult it becomes to find undiscovered (to me) stories that are interesting.

First let me prattle off some of the authors I have read and loved thus far, but before doing so I'll say that these are just
the ones that -I- enjoy and by no means am I saying they are better than others out there, it's just my quirky likes and dislikes.

So some of the authors I've found and enjoyed to date are:
Evil Alpaca, Elianna, whitesabretooth, secretme, JazCullen, mack_the_knife, hammingbyrd7, SecretFantasy69, and Xantu.

So now to the types of authors and stories I am looking for, a few things I feel strongly about:
Plot/character driven stories - sex scenes are great, but not the focus
Length - at least 10 lit pages long (more the better) ie. multiple chapters
Plot - action/mystery is great; not looking for a pure romance. Also, I don't particularly like too much emotional drama
(ie. BAD - "I love him but I'm not good enough so I'm going to pretend I hate him")

Additional things I enjoy in stories but are not at all "required"
Smart characters
Techy stuff (to satisfy my inner geek) - from guns to alarm systems
Strong characters (any type of strength - ie a character may lack courage but be fiercely loyal)
Genre - sci-fi / nonhuman, but hey, if Alias (JJ Abrams TV series) was a book, I'd love it ^_^

Thanks for any direction or guidance you can give me! I really really hope I don't come off as too picky or difficult >.<
Also, if you know any similar published works, that is fair game too!

Well, you've pretty much listed the royalty of the category *laugh*

I think most of daniellekitten's stories of that nature have actually been pulled for pay publishing.

Also...I think I need to start an excel spreadsheet or something because it's hard to keep track of everything, haha. Thanks for reminding me of Daniellekitten, I havn't read her work in a while. Also, I should add your name to that short incomplete list I had earlier, I've loved you stories...although you did leave us hanging with Sisters of the Mists *glare* but I found your site and understand your reasons *hug*.

Thanks for the compliment I'm hoping to end that hang time around the first of next year -- but no promises just yet. Only two partial scenes ( I've been skipping back and forth between the last two depending upon my mood ) in Ch. 17 left.

Thanks for more suggestions! Read through Daniellekitten's Hunter Hunted series and loved it!
Only thing I found curious was considering how long lived and bad-ass Mirage was, she sure ended
up on the wrong side of the barrel a lot >.<

Also read through the first chapter of Walker Brigade; starting Small World and Vera Chronicles at the moment.

The more suggestions the happier I am. You want me to be happy, right? *sad kitten eyes*

You might like my story The Lengths One Wil Go To... Though it isn't the kind of length you're looking for (it's 5 and a bit Lit pages), I think it may interest you.

I don't want to give too much away, but just remember, there's a good reason why it's in the Sci-Fi category, though it might take you a while to discover what it is.

My stories wouldn't interest you, then, because most of them are stirctly smut, with no plot to speak of and no character development. They are the written equivalent of a movie in a peep show machine in a porno book store that you drop a quarter into and watch a few seconds of the videotape.

Quick summary: Sisters are abducted by two sinister beings.

There is more to it than that, however. Nice long intro and detailed history and all of that. First chapter is up an approved. Second chapter has been submitted and is pending. Third chapter is in the works. Hope you give it a read.
