it goes much deeper though, that council are seeking to sell a war memorial for pennies, to a company who 'propose' to build a sports stadium on it. the ground cannot take a stadium (its chemically contaminated to a depth of 100 feet) and so is basically a get rich quick scheme, which will now fall at the planning consent stage (if it gets that far). oh happy day.
