Over 100,000 people-- not nearly a million. It seems there were over a million people there. This is a significant demonstration of the size of the Tea Party and their motivation.
Over 100,000 people-- not nearly a million.
A hundred thousand white people, talking about civil rights. The right to be fat because of the cheap food they eat courtesy of the the corporations that pirate their lives.
Yes, ami, we all knew all about beck's plans. We chose not to talk about them here. We come here to talk about writing. And Sex. And sex writing.
Talking politics on this little forum is for wusses. Take it to Huffington or craigslist. http://craigslist.org/forums/? where, at this moment, there are 2224 people visiting the politics usa forum, and 15486 visiting the world politics forum.
Ack! the Baltimore Sun was off by three thousand! That's crappy head-counting. You think they got lazy?Actually, Stella you are wrong. It is more like 87,000. lol
I just couldn't resist posting the Republican claims because this whole event offended me. Some movement.

What was this? The Million Cracker March?
I must say, I'm not surprised to see your surprise.I must say, I am a bit surprised to see you using a racial slur in one of your posts.![]()
I get a pass on "cracker" because I'm white.I must say, I am a bit surprised to see you using a racial slur in one of your posts.![]()
Mockery is the best he's going to get around here, or haven't you noticed?Whatever the real number of people, the photos show that a hell of a lot of people were there. When one man can draw a crowd like that, what he has to say is worthy of respect, not the mockery of fools.
Disagree all you want, but come up with a cogent counter-argument, instead of trotting out the familiar old, one-size-fits-all insults, accompanied by girlish giggling.
Anyone who can create--such as a writer--has a godlike power, and should be above such childishness.

Is it November yet?
Amicus
Told you it would be fun chasing the estimated attendance figures, but you miss the point entirely.
An estimated 500,000 people attended what turned out to be a religous 'revival' meeting, to 'restore' American values to its' Judeao Christian foundations...in other words, the 'Fundies' were out in great number from all over America.
And you didn't even notice.
Is it November yet?
Amicus
No, but it will be, soon.
I have no idea how many people were there, except the number is probably in between two estimates. One group, with an agenda, said 87,000. Another group, with a different agenda, said half a million. I suspect the actual figure is in between those extremes.
Estimating through photos can be fixed if you know what your principal wants. For instance, if the "sample area" is the reflecting pool, you can look at it and say "There's nobody there. That must mean therer was nobody at the rally. I realize they would never do something so absurd, but they could use a "Sample Area" that happened to be at the outskirts of the crowd and was less densely packed than the middle of the crowd.![]()
