Well thank you - mortalwombat ! :)

I like your AV pic too ! It was nice and sunny in QLd this last weekend - 25c :D

Now bragging about the loverly weather in QLD seems strange for a snow skier, i would of though we might have got a snow report seeing it's the season for you to enjoy.

MMMMM loverly with gravy & baked vegies, delicious! :D

as these are both boys, they're destined to be food anyway.
i know that - but everyone around me seems to think i won't be able to do the deed come christmas or thereabouts.
you betcha i'll be able to! i look at these little cuties, and i literally see lamb chops bleating at me! lol
besides, i've been killing my own food for many years (hunting kangaroos and rabbits, fishing, etc)

I wanted to go through the thread and build up some history (I HATE barging into any forums). However, being 9000+ pages long, I got discouraged.

Sooo...

Hi from another lit member, up on the Sunshine coast (30/m), and I promise I will read 5 pages daily, till I'm up to speed ;-)

welcome min :)

i second the suggestion that you don't bother reading back the entire thread!
just go back a few pages, get a feel for who we all are.... then jump in and begin :)

would love to catch up with a few people ICR, but for obvious reasons can only do so if traveling alone, even if it's all totally innocent.
That AV pic is about 4 years old now sexyskier-might be time I updated. I have far better legs now!

a new av pic?!!
*waits, tapping foot.....

(i prolly should update mine also  )

Hi there - I live in QLD - but I love snow skiing ! But I don't ski in Auss anymore - snow is not the best here !!
I do all my skiing in the USA - Colorado in January ! :D

So I really don't watch what the snow is doing down south at the moment - sorry !

I wouldn't want to keep WQ waiting now would I? Give me a few days-I need to think of what to take a pic of!

My knees are pretty good Gil-I tend to run mostly trails these days anyway. It's a little easier on the body-and I'm getting old! Unfortunately, I like running long-and am looking at a 100km race along the Great Ocean Walk (between Great Ocean Rd and the sea) from Apollo Bay to Pt Cambell in October......... At least it's all trail apart from a couple of bits of beach. Failing that I might be slipping down to Tassie for a 64km run on Bruny Island-I've never been there but I hear it's nice. Currently my longest event is 55km last April.

I don't think I can explain just how jealous I am right now.

For anyone who wanted to know what the snow is doing by the way, I just got home from a weekend at the snow and it's good, but there are still a lot of patchy spots around the place because there still needs to be more on top of this first base...

Nascar

Aussie drivrs are doing eal good here driving the NASCAR circuit. The best one is Marcos Ambrose

Hiya lovely people.:) Someone asked what the plans for the weekend were. I have no plans at the moment but it appears to be a lovely day ahead with blue skies so something outdoors sounds like it might be the go.

Hope everyone is well.

plans.....I flew to Sweden. where did all the blonds come from!.....

marc is a great guy!
met him in the most unlikely of places here in tas, and ended up having dineer and a few beers with him.
he signed all our models of his race cars, as well as the BIG GIRL (our main car).
and both HIM/partner and i are in marc's new documentary about gold prospecting in tassie (his film crew were there that night and got us in most of the evening's footage.)
was quite a night!

WQ the movie star (documentry star) !!!!!!!!!!!!! :D I look forward to seeing it on TV when it's on. Did Marcos say what is happening to his NASCAR career seeing he dosn't have the drive he has been racing with or did they re sign him?

It was interesting to get a glimps of Marcus driving a speedway car at Eldora Speedway that Tony Stewart owns on Ch1 recently, would like to know what he thought of the racing on speedway dirt track.

Big weekend in the city of churches. Well some of the weekend anyway-getting in Sat evening and coming home Mon afternoon. Marathon Sunday and zoo monday-apparently we have to see the pandas.
Not sure what to do for breaky sunday morning-from last time we were in Adelaide, everything closes early (except the casino and adult book shops) so no going to the supermarket for supplies, and not sure anywhere will be open early enough so we can eat before the run. Bit of a quandry!

lots of place in North Adel will be open (but by the time you see this it won't be helpful to you at all I say)

it's one of those you need to be local things i think. Lots of places open for breaky - just not supermarket before 11. Depends where you are staying to local conv. stores. I love the 24 supermarket for those early morning milk runs

sorry to not get to see you while you are here!
also apologise for SHIT weather :(

Perhaps we could organise a Lit meet in Marve!ous Me!bourne when Gem is over here next. We have shit weather too...so she will feel at home.
Rod

LOL you have way more shit weather than we do :D
(not that I mind. I quiet like Melb - and realistically I am still a Victorian)

Shit weather! My oath it was. A marathon (that's 42.195km) in thise winds of Sunday morning was quite difficult. Part of the course was along the beach-so cross winds off the water-and waves spraying us with salt water as we tried to run in a straight line. Great fun!

There is a cross-country skiing marathon next weekend called the Hoppet at Falls Creek.

Sounds like the weather is going to be much the same, just swap beach with lakeside and salt water with sleet.

I'm glad I'm not a competitor, just a tag-along for the free weeks downhill skiing :D

Good Idea Rod & as someone who has organised a couple of Aussie thread meets here are some of the things I found you'll need to consider .....

*Accommodation close to the venue you select (cheap).

*Venue where a little adult talk can be had without upsetting others, MEALS as some have a habit of forgetting to eat till early hours when nothing is available.

*Date is the toughest to pick as school holidays are always costly for both accommodation & fares.

Had many of those fun runs when I was much younger with the wind, rain & or seas spray.

Were you pleased with your effort dealing with Mother Nature?

Not a big fan of snow, more sun & sea for me but hope the weather is kind for your free weeks sking.
