Hiya lovely people.:) Someone asked what the plans for the weekend were. I have no plans at the moment but it appears to be a lovely day ahead with blue skies so something outdoors sounds like it might be the go.

Hope everyone is well.

We have been lazy, got up at 9am and done nothing but eat and watch (recorded) tv :) However I did clean the bathroom yesterday so I'm entitled to a rest ;)

Back to dialysis every 2nd day, two doctors appointments next week, and the usual gym classes. Summer's supposed to be coming soon (but doesn't feel like it  )

has been a busy weekend for me :)

first i helped dig out 15 tree stumps.
then, while i was showering after.... it occured to me that i really should clean the bathroom.
so i did that, then got all inspired and continued till i'd finished the entire house (with 5 bedrooms, it's a hell of a job!)
and after cooking a glorious dinner, my saturday was finished.

today, i've spent most of the day writing out a stack of vegan recipes for my sis-in-law.
finally got her new recipe book finished, and it's all wrapped and ready to send tomorrow.
then i thought i'd go down the hill for the paper - a trip of 12km each way.
all good, except we've got pregnant sheep in the driveway - eating the grass - and one of them gave birth this morning.
so here i was..... slowly walking in front of the car (mum driving) to gently coax the sheeps down the hill.
don't want to stress the preggy ladies too much!
but this tiny little newborn lamb was absolutely exhausted by the time it had finished trudging 1.1km.
i felt bad :(
then when we got back, i had to reverse the process and make all the sheeps go back UP the hill.
that poor little newborn lamb got halfway and then just stopped.
it stood there trembling and crying :(
i felt like a total bitch...... sooooo bad i actually had tears for the little dear.
i mean - the wee thing was tripping over it's trailing umbilical cord  as if i didn't feel bad enough, seeing that just about destroyed me :(
so we parked the car right there in the middle of the drive and walked the rest of the way.
i just simply could not make that tiny little lamby go one step more.

ahhhhhh.... the joys of country living.

I am looking for a farm in Tas at the moment. Your comments are why i prefer cattle to sheep! :)

we have both here, cattle and sheep.
out of the 2, i actually prefer the sheep - they're inoffensive in a way.
they just do their own thing and for the most part are quiet.
the cows OTOH, bellow at the slightest thing.

where in tas are you looking?
some places are better than others, re rainfall etc.

OMG, today has been HUGE!!!
first, we found a sheep with a prolapse.
after some time, we managed to separate her from the group and checked her out.
she was an old one, so we decided it was best to put her out of her misery.
then i performed a c-section, and delivered twin boys :D
both needed resus - but after a few swings around, they both came good, and were up and walking within the hour.
we milked the mum, and got all the good stuff for them - and they're feeding like champions.
so i now have a large cardboard box in my living room near the fire, with my 2 'boys' in..... B1 and B2.
looks like i'll be up every 3 hours for the next week or so, feeding the cutest little baby lambs ever :)

I wanted to go through the thread and build up some history (I HATE barging into any forums). However, being 9000+ pages long, I got discouraged.

Sooo...

Hi from another lit member, up on the Sunshine coast (30/m), and I promise I will read 5 pages daily, till I'm up to speed ;-)

Welcome Minamoo-easy to catch up here. Welcome also to Sexyskier-nice pic in your profile!
Just back home to Miserable Melbourne from Sunny Sydney after the City to Surf. 80,000 people all running at once is a little cramped! Next weekend Adelaide!

Wow, quite a day for you then. Baby lambs are the sweetest little creatures.. I have raised a few myself although many years ago!
Enjoy your 3 hourly wake ups ;)

Hi and welcome :) I wouldn't be too worried about reading back through the thread - my best advice is to jump in and post and get to know everyone that way.

I saw the crowd on the news.. it sure did look cramped.
Hopefully next time you are in Sydney we might be able to catch up for a coffee or something.

would love to catch up with a few people ICR, but for obvious reasons can only do so if traveling alone, even if it's all totally innocent.
That AV pic is about 4 years old now sexyskier-might be time I updated. I have far better legs now!

Welcome & bit of an effort to discover what is in this group, you'll find a lot have come & gone with only me left from the early pages :( but it is a good group & we seem to always find other Aussies joining in the fun here.

Run Forest run! Mate take care of your knees as I used to lots of running on the streets & now need a replacement knee & the other isn't to flash either.
